Canon EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM Announcement

      News

Canon EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM is the newest lens for macrography equipped with a flash, which frames the front lens. Thanks to this function, we will be able to illuminate a photographed object and neutralize the shadows casted by a camera and a lens. The flash has a possibility of illuminating one or two segments at the same time.

Inside the flash, we have the optical system consisting of 10 lenses placed in 6 groups. As would be expected of a real macro lens, it has a 1:1 mapping, and the minimum focus distance is 30mm.

The lens has been equipped with the Hybrid IS image stabilization technology, which corrects angular and linear displacement of an image, and a quiet, precise STM autofocus motor.

Zeiss Milvus 35mm f/1.4 is yet another Zeiss lens which enlarges the series of manual lenses intended to be used with full-frame Nikon and Canon cameras. Professional Milvus family are designed to work without any problems with the cameras having high resolution sensors.

Inside the new 35 model, we will find 14 optical elements placed in 11 groups, including 5 lenses made of special glass and one aspherical element. Such an advanced optical system should translate into the above-average image resolution, high contrast and proper color transfer.

Thanks to the use of special elements, chromatic aberration is almost non-existent in this lens. What's more, due to anti-reflection coatings, the lens should fulfill its role perfectly in the contrasting lighting conditions.

Thanks to f/1.4 aperture, we will be able to successfully separate a photographed object of its background and achieve bokeh as well as the malleable blur of out-of-focus parts. The minimum focus distance is 30 cm.

The advanced optical system has been enclosed in the tube made of metal, which is additionally sealed against the influence of weather conditions.

Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM from the professional G Master series is a new lens intended to be used in landscape and architectural photography.

The optical system consists of 16 elements placed in 13 groups, including 5 aspherical lenses and 2 made of low-dispersion glass. Such a solution is to ensure perfect focus within the whole frame view and minimize chromatic aberration. Additionally, the lenses are covered with Nano AR coatings, which are supposed to reduce light reflection and ensure high contrast. The front lens is additionally covered with a fluorine coating, which makes it easier to clean the lens from dirt and other forms of contamination.

Similarly to other lenses from the G Master series, Sony used a 11-blade aperture. A well-known system of two ultrasonic DDSSM motors is responsible for adjusting focus.

The whole construction is, of course, sealed and it weighs 680g, which is a good result for such a professional lens.
