DESCRIPTION
The Canon G7 X Mark III is equipped with a zoom comes with a universal focal range of 8.8-36.8mm and variable light f/1.8-2.8, which gives us an equivalent of a full frame of 24-100mm. This system consists of 11 elements arranged in 9 groups. Among them, we find a two-sided aspherical lens, a one-sided aspherical UA element, a one-sided aspherical lens and one UD element. The lens is also stabilized.
For recording the image in this camera corresponds to a 1 inch (13.2 × 8.8mm) sensor powered by BSI-CMOS technology with a very universal resolution of 20.1MP (2.41μm pixel size sensor), which is supported by a DIGIC 8 processor. This processor will allow for smooth and a fast experience when working with the camera. The sensor allows you to work with ISO 125-12800 sensitivity but with some limitations.
G7 X Mark III allows us to take pictures in resolution 5472×3648px in JPEG and RAW formats as well as in many other sizes and image ratios.
The camera, of course, also records videos with a resolution of 4K 30p without crop (with the support of electronic image stabilization) or slow motion movies at 120fps with FHD resolution. In addition, the camera provides quite a breakthrough when using the live streaming function and the vertical recording function that allows you to create materials tailored directly to social media or when filming in HDR mode, which will provide a greater dynamic range of recorded materials.
When it comes to autofocus, the Canon G7 X Mark III is equipped with a contrast detection AF with face detection, which should be precise even when focusing on fast-moving objects. Unfortunately, Canon has decided not to use the proven DualPixel AF known from high-end cameras.
The shutter in this camera allows you to take pictures at a speed of up to 30fps (in the "burst" mode using an electronic shutter) or 8fps with full autofocus support. The fastest mechanical shutter speed is 1/2000sec, and in electronic mode up to 1/25600sec, unfortunately only in TV, M, and Manual Movie Modes modes.
Canon G7 X Mark III does not have a viewfinder, but only a 3" upward-facing display made in TFT LCD technology with a resolution of 1,040,000 points, which has a touch functions.
The camera is made of a magnesium alloy and a plastic. It has a built-in pop-up flash and an interestingly solved knob for selecting shooting modes and exposure compensation. Another interesting feature is the built-in ND filter, which is more and more often recognized in Canon cameras. As befits the G7 X Mark III, also has HDMI output without compression, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, and menu layout inspired by Canon EOS cameras.
When you connect the PowerShot G7 X Mark III to your mobile device, the camera automatically receives GPS coordinates for your photos, making it easier to mark images in the media gallery or social media.

COMPARISON WITH SIMILAR CAMERAS
The table below lists the specifications of the Canon G7 X Mark III with its predecessor, the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II from 2016 and the model that premiered with this camera, the Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II.
As the comparison shows, the main difference between the older and the newer model are the filming functions. The new camera can record in 4K resolution where the older model only record in UHD resolution.
The differences between the Canon G7 X Mark III and the Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II, apart from the built-in viewfinder, is the price of the G5 Mark II.
