The compact FujiFilm GFX 50R, which has recently been described by us, was only a starter before a main dish, which is GFX 100. The presented camera is a medium-format one whose heart is a 102MP (43,8 x 32,9mm) sensor with full frame coverage with phase-detection pixels. It is not the first construction on the market equipped with the sensor of such high resolution, but for the first time we have to do with the sensor equipped with image stabilization, thanks to which, with the use of GFX 100, we will be able to make sharp photographs with the use of a tripod.
Videos can be recorded in 4K with the speed of 30f/s. It has been announced that, contrary to GFX 50S and 50R, available filming functions will be significantly expanded.
1). FujiFilm GFX 100
From the attached photographs, we can see that it is truly oldschool - we will possibly find a set of classic knobs and buttons and the very body will be big and solid, which should encourage the use of big and heavy lenses. A vertical grip was placed at the bottom of the camera's body. It will facilitate making portraits. At the upper wall, we will find an auxiliary LCD screen.
The date of premiere of GFX 100 and its price are not known yet.
Together with the premiere of the new camera, the appearances of new medium-format GF lenses have been announced. GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR (the equivalent of 40mm for full frame) and GF 100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR (the equivalent of 79-158mm for full frame) are to appear on the market in 2019. GF 45-100mm f/4 R LM OIS WR (the equivalent of 25-221mm for full frame) is to appear on the market in 2020.
