    Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 Announcement

It may seem ironic that the camera which resembles the logo of one of the most popular social media is in fact one of very few devices from which we will not be able to post any photographs on social media (maybe apart from the scans). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6, as this is the camera that we're talking about, is a fully analog camera for instant photography.

SQ6 records images in the 1:1 format, with the dimensions of 61mm x 61mm, using Instax inserts, which we got to know last year, along with the presentation of Fujifilm Instax Square SQ10 - a digital predecessor of  SQ6. Instax inserts with black rims are a novelty.

In the automatic exposure adjustment mode,  SQ6 will do all the work for us. The camera will examine the conditions in which we would like to take a photograph and it will, on the basis of the obtained information,  adjust proper shutter speed within the range of 1.6 s to 1/400 s. It will also decide about the necessity of using flash and its power.

The camera is equipped with 7 photography modes. One of them is the self-portrait mode, which will enter optimal focus and brightness settings. A small mirror placed near the camera's lens will be very helpful in better framing of selfies.

In the Macro mode, we will be able to take photographs from the distance of 30cm and in the landscape mode - from the distance of more than 2m.  The double exposure mode will help in placing 2 photographs on one another, the D (dark) mode will darken and the L (light) mode will brighten the photographs. The camera is equipped with the buttons which enable turning off the flash. On the rear wall, we will find a self-timer button.

There are also some curiosities: 3 colorful filters placed on the flash - purple, orange and green, with the use of which we will be able to obtain an artistic atmosphere of the "old polaroid" photographs.

    5). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6

Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 is almost square, its dimensions are 118.7 x 128.1 x 58.1mm and it weighs 393g. The camera can be mounted on a tripod. SQ6 will be available in 3 color versions: white pearl, poppy red gold and graphite. It will appear on sale on May 25, 2018.

The second lens which had its premiere today is Fujifilm Fujinon XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR, an ultra-wide angle zoom which ensures the equivalence of 12-24mm f/2.8. This lens will surely be gladly welcomed by many landscape and architecture photographers.

Inside a new wide-angle Fujijon zoom we will find the optical system consisting of 20 elements, placed in 13 groups. Among them there are 4 aspheric lenses, which are supposed to control distortions and spherical aberrations, as well as 3 ED elements and 3 super-ED ones. Additionally, the back part of two front lenses is covered with the Nano-GI coating, which is supposed to eliminate light leaks and flares caused by a diagonal incidence of light on optical elements.

A 9-blade aperture with a nominal f/2.8 hole, which can be closed up to f/22, is responsible for image plasticity. The construction of the lens is supposed to guarantee the advanced image reproduction functions within the whole range of apertures and focal lengths.

2 liner autofocus motors are responsible for focusing. This should positively influence the speed and precision of focus adjustment – also from the minimum focus distance of 25 cm.

New Fujinon is also supposed to work effectively in hard, demanding conditions. The tube is made of magnesium and it is additionally sealed in 11 places. As a result, the lens is to be resistant to dust, splashes and low temperatures (-10° C). The lens weighs 805g and it has the dimensions of 122 x 88mm.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR is to appear on sale at the end of November. It will cost $2000.

Today Fuji also presented an updated map of lenses. We've found three interesting constructions there: XF 33mm f/1 R WR which ensures the equivalence of 50mm f/1.5, wide-angle fixed lens 16mm f/2.8 and a stabilized zoom 16-80mm f/4.

      3). Fujifilm Fujinon XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR
The photographers who use the Fujifilm system surely have reasons to be delighted. Today Fujifilm presented two promising lenses for the XF system, XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR and XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR, which we've discussed in a separate article. Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR is a good-looking beast which has been designed for sports and nature photography.

The optical system of XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR consists of 19 elements, placed in 14 groups. Among them there is one super-ED lens and two ED ones. The front optical element is covered with a fluorite anti-reflective coating which is supposed to prevent light reflections.

Perfect image quality is to be achieved not only thanks to a 9-blade aperture but also thanks to a precise lens-polishing technology, which is used in very expensive lenses sold by the producer.

Apart from a great optical system, new Fujinon is also supposed to be distinguished due to its ultra-quick, precise and quiet autofocus system. The lens applies linear motors and it is equipped with a new mechanism which immobilizes focusing lenses when the camera is not used.

The lens also possesses a new Focus Preset function which immediately changes focus to a specific position, enabling photographers to catch a main object in the frame without a need to regulate focusing.

What's more, the lens offers a 5-grade vibration reduction, which, as the producer states, recognizes photography conditions and automatically applies the optimal image stabilization control.

Of course, the lens is fully made of magnesium and it is sealed in 17 sensitive points. The construction weighs 2265g and it has the dimensions of 206 x 122mm. The lens is covered with a light mat coating whose task is to reflect sun rays and, as a result, prevent the construction's overheating.

3). Fujifilm Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR
New XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR will be available as a set with the XF1.4X TC f/2 WR teleconverter. Thanks to this we will be able to increase the focal length range from 305mm to 427mm (full-frame equivalence) but, at the same time, we will lose one f-stop. After connecting to the teleconverter, the nominal hole will be f/2.8. The XF1.4X TC f/2 WR converter consists of 7 optical elements (including 1 aspheric lens), placed in 4 groups.

4). Fujifilm Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR will be available on sale at the end of October and it will cost $6000.
