    Leica Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 Announcement

      News

The presented Leica Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 ASPH is the second in this century, and the fourth in general, construction which has appeared in the Noctilux series.

A fixed lens, about which many portrait photographers have dreamed, is a fully manual lens, which is supposed to fully extend the new possibilities in this type of photography.

    1). Leica Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 with Leica M10

The lens is supposed to ensure a significantly more shallow depth of field than Noktilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH, which is a remarkable achievement. Apart from that, we will get a minimum focus distance of 85cm.

The lens is equipped with a 11-blade aperture, with the maximum nominal slot of f/1.25, which is going to provide a higher-than-average bokeh effect.

The lens has the dimensions of 74x91mm and it weights 1055g so it’s not a compact one. Leica Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 ASPH is going to be compatible with the M system, but thanks to a special adapter we will also be able to mount it to the Leica SL lens.

The optical system consists of 9 elements placed in 6 groups, and the whole construction is to be characterized by high resolution and proper correction of all optical defects, which is definitely going to be useful during the work with the lens and new future high-resolution cameras.

If you are planning to travel in time several years earlier and take some photographs there without creating sensation, Leica has a special camera for you - M10-D. The camera, of course, does not have much in common with the old constructions - it is actually, generally speaking, Leica M10 without a display.

The camera's user can, of course, regulate the shutter, aperture, sensitivity and exposition compensation time - all of these (and other) activities can be made with the use of analog knobs. But in the twenty-first century not everything can be made in an analog way. M10-D is equipped with the advanced wireless functions.

      1). Leica M10-D + Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH

The camera can be controlled remotely with the use of the "Fotos" (iOS, Android) application. There, we can also manage the recorded material. The live preview is ensured by the ... "Live View" application. We can also send DNG files to mobile devices.

      2). Leica M10-D

As we've already mentioned, the camera shares its subsystems with the flagship Leica M10 camera to a huge extent. On board, we will find the 24MP CMOS sensor with the ISO sensitivity range of 100 - 50000, the Maestro II processor, the 2GB buffer and the range-finder viewfinder with automatic parallax correction. In the continuous shooting mode, the camera will take 5 photographs per second and they can be saved on SDHC cards with the capacity up to 32GB or SDXC with the capacity up to 2TB.

The camera's body is made of magnesium and brass and it has been created with due diligence, as can be expected from Leica. The camera has the dimensions of 139 × 37.9mm and it weighs 660g.

Advice for travelers in time: don't forget to move the film frames with the use of the thumb grip! And be careful with horse carriages

A few days ago a new Leica C-Lux, one of the best 1'' compact cameras on the market, had its debut on the market.

The camera is equipped with the 20.1 Mp 1" MOS sensor with the ISO range of 125-25600. We will be able to save up to 28 RAW photographs with the speed of 10f/s. Still, these are not parameters thanks to which we will be certain that we want to buy the Panas... sorry, Laica camera. The biggest advantage of this camera is its lens. C-Lux is the equivalent of 24-360mm and this parameter should fulfil its role in all kinds of photography. The lens is equipped with quick autofocus which uses 'Depth From Defocus' technology and 5-axis stabilization system.

      1). Leica C-Lux

At the back of the camera, there is a 3'' LCD TFT touch screen, with the resolution of 1.24 Mp and (almost) classic viewfinder. with the resolution of 2.33 Mp - 0.53x zoom.

      2). Leica C-Lux

Leica C-Lux enables Wi-Fi connectivity, thanks to which we can remotely control the camera or conveniently send photographs, for instance to a smartphone. With the use of the camera we can record films in 4K (3840x2160), with sufficient speed of 30f/s, out of which each frame with the size of 8Mp can be extracted and used as a photograph.

      3). Leica C-Lux

As could be expected from Laica, C-Lux is a very elegant camera. It will be available in light gold and dark blue and we will be able to use a wide range of colorful accessories, specially created by the company for this model.

      4). Leica C-Lux

Laica C-Lux will appear on sale in July 2018 and it will cost $1050. Without a wide range of colorful accessories, and with Lumix signature, the described camera can be bought already and we can save $250.

Leica M Monochrom „Stealth Edition“ is a limited version of Leica M Monochrom (type 246), which was designed by Marcus Wainwright,  the founder and general director of the fashion brand Rag & Bone. A characteristic element of this model is a black matt body and the marks which light up in the darkness.

As the very name of the camera suggests, only monochromatic photographs can be taken with the use of this camera, which is also the case with the standard version.

The camera is equipped with the 24Mp CMOS sensor, without a low-pass filter, which has the dimensions of 23.9x35.8mm, as well as the Maestro image processor and 2GB buffer.

      1). Leica M Monochrom „Stealth Edition“

The camera enables work within the ISO range of 320-25000 and recording films in FullHD 1080p. The films are recorded in the Motion JPEG format, which is loved by Canon.

The 3'' LCD screen has the resolution of 921600 pixels. In the Live View mode, we can find the functions of focus enlargement and focus peaking, which enable precise adjustment of focus.

      2). Leica M Monochrom „Stealth Edition“

The body is made of resistant magnesium alloy, whereas the upper and bottom parts are made of a milled uniform piece od brass.

The camera is covered with a black matt paint. Most of the standard white letters on the buttons and other marks have been darkened and covered with a fluorescent paint which shines in the darkness.

A significant part of the body has been covered with a cowhide, which is supposed to ensure better adhesion during photographing.

      3). Leica M Monochrom „Stealth Edition“

Together with Leika M Monochrom (Type 246) in the „Stealth Edition“ version, the producer has also presented a dedicated lens - Summicron-M 35 mm f/2 ASPH. The lens has an identical design so we get luminescent marks and a black matt tube.
