Yesterday's premiere of Nikons Z6 and Z7 with the new ”Z” mount standard had to entail the presentation of the dedicated lenses. Today we're going to briefly discuss three of them: Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S, 50mm f/1.8 S and 35mm f/1.8.

The three presented lenses are to satisfy basic standard needs of photographers. They are supposed to be characterized by high quality of the optical system and they are to be quiet, without the focus breathing effect. The detailed specifications are not known yet.

    Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S

The optical construction of the lens consists of fourteen elements placed in eleven groups. One low-dispersion lens, one aspherical ED lens and three standard apsherical lenses have been applied in it. The lens is to ensure brilliant resolution within the whole frame, even at maximum aperture. What's more, it is also to remarkably deal with chromatic aberration. In order to avoid light leaks and flares, the nanocrystalline coatings have been used. The fluorine coating which covers the front lens is to facilitate keeping it clean.

Sharp photographs with the use of Nikkor Z 24-70 mm f/4 S will be made from the distance of 30cm within the whole focal length.

    Price: $999.

The optical construction of the lens consists of two low-dispersion (ED) lenses and three aspherical lenses. Similarly to the first lens described today, we can expect remarkable sharpness within the whole frame. According to the producer, this effect should bring the impression of “changing the way f/1.8 lenses will be perceived.” Thanks to reducing chromatic aberration, among other things, the lens is to perfectly fulfil its function while photographing point light sources at night and obtaining “soft and natural blurring” should not be a problem.

Nanocrystalline anti-reflective coatings have been used on the lenses and the AF is supposed to be as quick, quiet and precise as never before. The whole construction has been additionally protected against dust and splashes.

    Price: $949

The optical system of the last of the lenses described today consist of two ED lenses and two aspherical ones. Similarly to the constructions discussed above, we can expect high resolution within the whole frame. This time in the description the producer mentions extraordinary benefits of reducing longitudinal aberration, exceptional mapping of tiny textures at maximum aperture and, again, high image resolution.

Similarly to the above lenses, this one also applies nanocrystalline coatings and is reistant to splashes and dust. The advanced stepper motor construction is supposed to ensure quick, quiet and precise AF, both during photographing and recording films.

    Price: $600

During the presentation of the lenses described today, the graphics showing further steps of the company with regard to the premieres of “Z” standard lenses in the next three years was presented. In 2019, three new lenses, headed by the extraordinarily bright Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct, will appear on the market.

A Chinese producer Yongnuo is strengthening its position among the producers of budget photography equipment.  The latest proposition of Yongnuo is the EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens. Its predecessor, Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 appeared on the market in 2014 and we remember it mainly because of its huge similarities to Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 and, of course, the price which was much power than its predecessor's.
The producer assures that the II generation is equipped with an improved optical system and a more efficient AF. The optical system consists of 6 lenses placed in 5 groups, just like its predecessor's. However, the latest construction ensures  46-grade angle of view and the zoom of 0.21×. The new technology of coatings is supposed to ensure the minimization of reflections and light reflections, which can occur during taking photographs in hard conditions.  The focusing speed, precision of focal length and light permeability have also been improved.

      1). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II
The 50mm focal length and the 7-blade aperture with the light of f/1.8 are responsible for focusing. Thanks to them, we can achieve round bokeh and soft blurring. On the lens, we can mount filters with the diameter of 58mm.
The minimum focus distance is now 35cm - this parameters has been improved by 10cm. In manual focus adjustment, the focusing distance indicator, which is on the front of the lens, will be useful.

      2). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II
Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is a compact construction, its dimensions are 75 × 52mm and it weighs 162g. The housing is made of plastic but the whole thing looks solid.  The longevity of the Chinese camera should be ensured by the metal bayonet, covered with chrome. In order to avoid problems with the compatibility of various computer operating systems, the producer has resigned from the possibility of direct connection of the lens to computers with the use of the USB cable. YN 50mm f/1.8 II can be updated via the camera.
At the moment, Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is available on Ebay. It costs $74 in the version intended for Canon cameras.
