Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD Announcement

      News

Lenses with the focal length of 70-200mm are one of the most popular zooms on the market. The leading producers have already introduced the cheaper versions of very popular bright lenses with the aperture of f/2.8. Now it's time for Tamron.

The optical system of Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD consists of 20 lenses placed in 14 groups, including 3 low-dispersion elements. The lens is also equipped with a 9-blade aperture, which, in connection with the long focal length, enables beautiful background bokeh.

The lens is equipped with the ultrasonic ring AF motor, which, when it comes to the effectiveness and speed of operation is supposed to match the best constructions on the market. Similarly to the majority of the 70-200mm lenses, it possesses an internal focusing mechanism, thanks to which it does not change its size.

The lens has the image stabilization system with the effectiveness of 4 EV.

The body of the lens is made of aluminum. Similarly to other new Tamron lenses, this one is also fully sealed against dust and weather conditions.  In addition, the front lens has been covered with a fluorite coating, thanks to which dust and moisture do not stick to it as easily.

Optionally, we may purchase a tripod mounting with an integrated Arca-Swiss footer.

Tamron's offer has just got expanded by an interesting lens – ultra wide-angle 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di OSD zoom, which is supposed to mainly interest travel and landscape photographers, due to its possibilities.

The optical construction consists of 15 elements placed in 10 groups. Among them we will find four LD lenses, whose task is to minimize axial chromatic aberration, and two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lenses. This model is also equipped with the advanced technology of BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coatings, which are to efficiently minimize light reflection, in this way enabling the control and reduction of any light leaks and flares within the whole focal length range.

What is more, the surface of the front optical element has been covered with fluorine, which has perfect water and oil repelling properties. Thank to this, the front lens should be easier to clean and less susceptible to dirt.

When it comes to the autofocus, the lens applies OSD (Optimized Silent Drive), in order to ensure quiet work. Thanks to innovative system optimization, which involves the AF speed reduction gear, new Tamron can significantly reduce the noise of the drive, in comparison to conventional types of autofocus.

The stabilization system has the efficiency of 5EV and it offers three modes of work: for static shots, for photographing of fast-moving objects and for panning shots. The system is also quieter than its predecessor.
