Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD Announcement

      News

Lenses with the focal length of 70-200mm are one of the most popular zooms on the market. The leading producers have already introduced the cheaper versions of very popular bright lenses with the aperture of f/2.8. Now it's time for Tamron.

The optical system of Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD consists of 20 lenses placed in 14 groups, including 3 low-dispersion elements. The lens is also equipped with a 9-blade aperture, which, in connection with the long focal length, enables beautiful background bokeh.

The lens is equipped with the ultrasonic ring AF motor, which, when it comes to the effectiveness and speed of operation is supposed to match the best constructions on the market. Similarly to the majority of the 70-200mm lenses, it possesses an internal focusing mechanism, thanks to which it does not change its size.

The lens has the image stabilization system with the effectiveness of 4 EV.

The body of the lens is made of aluminum. Similarly to other new Tamron lenses, this one is also fully sealed against dust and weather conditions.  In addition, the front lens has been covered with a fluorite coating, thanks to which dust and moisture do not stick to it as easily.

Optionally, we may purchase a tripod mounting with an integrated Arca-Swiss footer.

Today, a new Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS, the newest G Lens representative, also had its premiere. Exceptional image quality, quick and precise autofocus, and compact construction are the greatest advantages of the new lens.

The lens consists of 17 elements, placed in 14 groups. Among them there are four aspheric lenses, including two incredibly precise AA lenses. The front lens has a fluorine coating, which prevents the settling of dust, water, grease, and other forms of contamination.

The lens uses DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) autofocus, which enables to move the groups of lenses responsible for focus adjustment in a quick, precise, and quiet way. The used autofocus should also fulfil its role not only during photographing, but also during film-making.

The presented FE 24-105 mm f/4 G OSS model has the dimensions of 113x83mm and it weighs 663g, which makes it one of the smallest and lightest lenses in its class. Apart from that, the tubus has been sealed and it is resistant to dust and moisture.

The universality of the lens is additionally increased by elements such as a focus memory button with the function defined by the user, or the minimum focus distance of 38cm.

The lens will be available on sale in November. It will cost around $1300.
