    Yongnuo YN 100mm f/2N Announcement

      News

Yongnuo has recently presented the YN 100mm f/2N lens with the Nikon F mount. The lens is once again a copy (at least visually) of a much more expensive version of Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM.

The optical system consists of 8 lenses placed in 6 groups. The 9-blade aperture closes up to f/19. The minimum focus distance is 90cm.

The photographers who use the Fujifilm system surely have reasons to be delighted. Today Fujifilm presented two promising lenses for the XF system, XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR and XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR, which we've discussed in a separate article. Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR is a good-looking beast which has been designed for sports and nature photography.

The optical system of XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR consists of 19 elements, placed in 14 groups. Among them there is one super-ED lens and two ED ones. The front optical element is covered with a fluorite anti-reflective coating which is supposed to prevent light reflections.

1). Fujifilm Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR

Perfect image quality is to be achieved not only thanks to a 9-blade aperture but also thanks to a precise lens-polishing technology, which is used in very expensive lenses sold by the producer.

Apart from a great optical system, new Fujinon is also supposed to be distinguished due to its ultra-quick, precise and quiet autofocus system. The lens applies linear motors and it is equipped with a new mechanism which immobilizes focusing lenses when the camera is not used.

The lens also possesses a new Focus Preset function which immediately changes focus to a specific position, enabling photographers to catch a main object in the frame without a need to regulate focusing.

What's more, the lens offers a 5-grade vibration reduction, which, as the producer states, recognizes photography conditions and automatically applies the optimal image stabilization control.

Of course, the lens is fully made of magnesium and it is sealed in 17 sensitive points. The construction weighs 2265g and it has the dimensions of 206 x 122mm. The lens is covered with a light mat coating whose task is to reflect sun rays and, as a result, prevent the construction's overheating.

3). Fujifilm Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR

New XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR will be available as a set with the XF1.4X TC f/2 WR teleconverter. Thanks to this we will be able to increase the focal length range from 305mm to 427mm (full-frame equivalence) but, at the same time, we will lose one f-stop. After connecting to the teleconverter, the nominal hole will be f/2.8. The XF1.4X TC f/2 WR converter consists of 7 optical elements (including 1 aspheric lens), placed in 4 groups.

4). Fujifilm Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 200mm f/2 R LM OIS WR will be available on sale at the end of October and it will cost $6000.

A Chinese producer Yongnuo is strengthening its position among the producers of budget photography equipment.  The latest proposition of Yongnuo is the EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens. Its predecessor, Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 appeared on the market in 2014 and we remember it mainly because of its huge similarities to Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 and, of course, the price which was much power than its predecessor's.

The producer assures that the II generation is equipped with an improved optical system and a more efficienct AF. The optical system consists of 6 lenses placed in 5 groups, just like its predecessor's. However, the latest construction ensures  46-grade angle of view and the zoom of 0.21x. The new technology of coatings is supposed to ensure the minimization of reflections and light reflections, which can occur during taking photographs in hard conditions.  The focusing speed, precision of focal length and light permeability have also been improved.

      1). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II

The 50mm focal length and the 7-blade aperture with the light of f/1.8 are responsible for focusing. Thanks to them, we can achieve round bokeh and soft blurring. On the lens, we can mount filters with the diameter of 58mm.

The minimum focus distance is now 35cm - this parameters has been improved by 10cm. In manual focus adjustment, the focusing distance indicator, which is on the front of the lens, will be useful.

      2). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II

Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is a compact construction, its dimensions are 75 x 52mm and it weighs 162g. The housing is made of plastic but the whole thing looks solid.  The longevity of the Chinese camera should be ensured by the metal bayonet, covered with chrome. In order to avoid problems with the compatibility of various computer operating systems, the producer has resigned from the possibility of direct connection of the lens to computers with the use of the USB cable. YN 50mm f/1.8 II can be updated via the camera.

At the moment, Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is available on Ebay. It costs $74 in the version intended for Canon cameras.
