The most commonly asked question that I get is ''how do your images look so sharp?''.

The good news is that it's all about technique, which anyone can learn. One of the most important things you need to understand is the phenomenon of 'diffraction' and how to balance sharpness with depth of field to create the sharpest possible image.

In this video, I subtly plug my upcoming course 'Mastering Sharpness' by giving you a free preview from one of the sections in the course which is available for pre-order here.

I talk about how to mitigate the unpleasant effects of extreme diffraction and how to find the sweet spot in your lens that gives you the best sharpness balanced with optimum depth of field.

I've even pulled out all the stops and created a mind-blowing diagram that Hollywoods best CGI experts will admire jealously.

I do all this while managing to capture a lovely winter scene after a fresh dump of snow.

Thanks for watching
