In this photo editing tutorial video, I share a technique you can use to tix the proportions in your photos. In the example photo, I use selective image transformations to shrink the foreground, stretch the middleground, and provide more space to the top of the frame.

All those changes help to balance out the composition and put more space between the main subject and the upper edge of the photo.

As with all photo editing techniques, it's important to keep an eye on the details in the photo and not go too far. Within limits those transformations are a great tool to improve a photo, but if taken too far they can have a negative impact on details.
