  2. Two of the biggest telephoto Canon lenses - EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM and EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM have become renewed. In their third versions, the devices have significantly lost on weight, they became sealed and their ergonomy has significantly improved. Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III, with the dimensions of 163 x 343mm, lost more than one kilogram - from 3850g to 2840g. A slimming treatment of the bigger of the lenses, EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM, has been a little less successful and the lens now weights 3050g (its predecessor - 3920g) and it has the dimensions of 168 x 448mm. Both lenses have been sealed and the white finishing which characterizes the lenses from the L series is thermal insulation, thanks to which the devices are supposed to work better in extreme temperatures. In order to facilitate keeping the lenses clean, the external surfaces of the first and the last lens have been covered with the fluorine coating. 1). Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM Both lenses are equipped with the control elements on the body enabling focus adjustment, blocking and stopping focus settings. With the use of the ring knob we can go to two pre-programmed focus positions at any time. The focus mode, focus range, programmed focus restoration and the IS controllers are placed ergonomically. 2). Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM The optical systems of both lenses are similar - in both of them we have seventeen lenses placed in thirteen groups, a 9-blade aperture which can be closed up to f/32, while the nominal aperture for 400 mm is f/2.8 and for 600mm - f/4. In both lenses we will find the elements of fluorite lenses and the SubWavelenght Structure Coating (SWC) so we can expect significant reduction in chromatic aberration, flares and blurring while maintaining high quality of the reproduced colors, high resolution and contrast. 3). Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM The autofocus has also been treated as priority. New Canon lenses are equipped with ring USM motors with autofocus and an effective processor enabling fast and quiet AF work. Both lenses make it possible to obtain the "pull-focus" effect with focus regulation and focus preset. Manual focus adjustment in full-time is also available and the focusing speed can be adjusted also by manual electronic regulation. 4). Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM The lenses are to appear on sale in December and they will cost respectively: Canon EF 400 mm f/2.8L IS III USM - $12,000 Canon EF 600 mm f/4L IS III USM - $13,000 In the sets we will find only soft cases. Hard suitcases and new short hoods will be available optionally.

    Fujifilm X-T3 Announcement

The mirrorless Fujifilm X-T3 camera in its third version can boast about the 26MP sensor, an improved AF, a more effective processor, an advanced movie mode and improved ergonomics. Will it still set trends? Let's see! The heart of X-T3 is the fourth-generation sensor called X-Trans CMOS APS-C, which has been specially designed from the basics for this particular model. It has the resolution of 26MP and it is not equipped with a low-pass filter. Still, it is the first Fujifilm camera from the X series which has BSI (back-illuminated structure), thanks to which the camera should work better while taking photographs in higher sensitivity ranges. The ISO range is 160-1280 and it can be extended to ISO 80, 100, 125, 25600 and 51200. 1). Fujifilm X-T3 Unfortunately, unlike in X-H1, the presented camera is not equipped with the in-built image stabilization. The image processor of X-T3 is X-Processor 4, it is equipped with four cores and, according to the producer, it is to ensure an increase in the speed of data processing by one third, in comparison to the predecessors. X-T3 has a mechanical shutter and it can work with the speed of 11f/s. The series can include around 36 uncompressed RAW photographs. After choosing the electronic shutter, the speed can exceed to 20 f/s in full resolution and after the activation of Sports Finder function, we can save photographs with the speed of 30f/s. With the use of the Sports Finder function, images can be cut up to 1.25x, which will be distinguished by bright lines on the viewfinder. 2). Fujifilm X-T3 The producer's priority was improving the work of AF. The new sensor is equipped with 2.16 millions of phase-detection pixels, which results in the 4x increase in comparison to the present models. The detection involves almost 100% of the frame, thanks to which the AF is supposed to work in a quick and precise way, also with regard to the objects beyond the center of the frame. AF X-T3 is equipped with 425 points. In low light conditions, X-T3 achieves the effectiveness of 3EV. 3). Fujifilm X-T3 + XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Thanks to the use of the effective X-Processor 4, the operation of phase-detection algorithms was improved - now the camera corrects sharpness and exposure measure 1.5x faster than the existing models of this producer. Face and eye detection in AF-C was also improved. A novelty is the function of the “initial photograph”, thanks to which the camera starts photographing already after the shutter is pressed halfway. Fujifilm X-T3 is a milestone in terms of video registration. The material in 10-bit range of colors can be saved on SD cards in 4K with the speed of 60f/s and it can be watched on the devices connected to the camera by means of HDMI cable. Video can be saved in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC or in the newer format - H.265/HEVC. The bit rate during recording amounts to 200Mbps. At the same time, we can share the image on an external device. The data read speed has also increased which enables the reduction of the rolling shutter effect. Video can be also saved in F-Long and, after the software update announced for the end of the year, also in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) – in one of the ITU-R BT.2100 standards. 4). Fujifilm X-T3 + XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS New noise-reduction algorithms of X-T3 compare two adjacent movie frames and, on the basis of their analysis, reduce disruptions. The minimum ISO value in F-Long and DR400% amounts to ISO 640. When it comes to the look, Fujifilm X-T3 is not much different than its predecessor, X-T2 - the body is made of magnesium and sealed. The upper knobs are now bigger and grooves made on them are deeper – the same with more accentuated buttons which significantly improves comfortable use. At the back, we will find a 3" LCD screen with the resolution of 1.04MP, the screen can be rotated in three directions and, contrary to its predecessors, is a touch one. The camera is equipped with an electronic viewfinder with the resolution of 3.69MP and the 0.75x zoom. The viewfinder delay is 0.005s and the refresh rate is 100f/s. The camera has two SD card slots, it is equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth which enable data transfer to other devices. On the body we will also find a headphone connector and a USB-C connector so we will be able to connect, for instance, a microphone. 5). Fujifilm X-T3 + XF 8-16mm f/2.8 R LM WR + VG-XT3 Battery Grip The systemic news which are worth mentioning include for instance adding "monochromatic regulation" to the photosensitive film mode, which enables obtaining diverse color exposition. A novelty in the format is the Color Chrome effect, which ensures deeper color and richer color gradation during taking photographs of objects with high color saturation. Fujifilm X-T3 will appear on sale in a few days and it will be available in two color versions: silver and black. The camera's body will cost $1500 and the set of X-T3 + the XF 18 - 55 lens will cost $1900.

    Polaroid Mint Shoot+Print Announcement

Polaroid is a photography company whose funeral has been announced many times. But it seems that when after the apocalypse on earth merely cockroaches, the rubble burned by fire nd Dwayne Johnson will remain on earth, Polaroid will still produce cameras. Today we will write a few words about a new producer's baby - Polaroid Mint. 1). Polaroid Mint Mint Shoot+Print is equipped with the 16MP sensor, LED flash and... that's all. The camera has no display, the framing is only possible by looking into a viewfinder or, when we take a selfie, by looking into a small mirror placed next to the camera's aperture, known from the old mobile phones. In the upper part of the camera there are buttons with the use of which we will show the in-built printer how we want to print our photographs: in color, black and white or in sepia. There's also a frame-adding button. The photographs are printed on the previously-known ZINK inputs, which means that waving photographs immediately after taking them out of the Polaroid camera is pointless since the photographs emerge ready from the camera. The device has the memory card slot, but it will possibly be rarely used since the camera is equipped with 256GB of internal memory. Together with the Mint Shoot+Print camera, another interesting device has been presented, namely Polaroid Mint Pocket Printer. It's nothing else than a compact printer for smartphones. The photographs are printed with the use of the mobile application (iOS and Android) . Mint Shoot+Print is to appear on sale before Christmas and it will cost $99. Polaroid Mint Pocket Printer is to be a bit more expensive and it's supposed to cost $130. All devices will be available in blue, red, yellow, white and black.

    Canon EOS R Announcement

Without the never-ending guesses and speculations, almost secretly, a full-frame mirrorless Canon EOS R camera had its premiere in Nobu hotel in London. Together with the new body, four lenses and a number of additional accessories also had their debuts. The CMOS sensor of the new Canon has 30.3Mp and it is supported by the DIGIC 8 processor. The ISO range is 100 – 40,000, with a possibility of extension to ISO 50 - 51200. During continuous shooting the camera's speed will amount to 8f/s. The system called “Digital Lens Optimator” should take care of aberration correction by sending information from the lens to the camera's body. EOS R is a speed demon when it comes to AF, it adjusts sharpness in 0.05s and the number of settings combinations amounts to 5655 autofocus points, thanks to the “drag and drop function” on the touch screen - Touch And Drag AF. Focus adjustment should work up to -6EV. 1). Canon EOS R Canon EOS R is equipped with an electronic OLED viewfinder with the resolution of 3.69 million points, 0.76 zoom and the eyepoint of 23 mm. At the back wall there is a 3.2'' LCD screen with the resolution of 2.1 million points – the screen is a touch one and it can be rotated. Still, we will not find the AF joystick, the PASM knob, the mode lever as well as the knob known from the producer's reflex cameras. The camera can register videos in 4K with the speed of 30f/s, with the C-Log profile and it sends 10-bit signal with 4:2:2 sampling through HDMI. EOS R has been sealed so you can photograph with the use of it in hard weather conditions. It can also work completely silently in the “Silent LV Shooting” mode. 2). Canon EOS R A complete novelty of new Canon is the Multifunctional Touch Bar – a bar next to the viewfinder which can be touched or moved with your finger, allowing instant modification of a chosen camera function. The camera's Bluetooth is always on, which should have an impact on the battery's durability. If we're talking about power supply, the new BG-E22 grip will hold two LP-E6N batteries and it will be able to fulfill the function of the USB charger. Another novelty presented together with the camera is Canon Speedlite EL- 100 flash light, with a possibility of reflecting light from the walls and the ceiling. 3). Canon EOS R The four presented lenses are as follows: RF 24–105mm f/4L IS USM, RF 28–70mm f/2L USM, RF 35mm f/1.8 MACRO IS STM and ER 50mm f/1.2L USM. The bayonet's diameter of the new RF system is 54mm and the optical glass is 20mm from the sensor. All lenses have an additional multifunctional ring which facilitates control over the system. Together with the lenses, three adapters, enabling mounting EF and EF-S lenses on new mirrorless Canon cameras, were presented. One of the adapters is equipped with a ring fulfilling a function similar to the ring which can be found in the new lenses, the other one enables the use of inserted polarizing or gray filters. 4). Canon EOS R Canon EOS R body will cost $2200. In a set with the 24-105mm f/4L lens, the price will rise to $3,399. The lenses are equipped with a function ring with the use of which we can control the chosen functions of the camera's menu. The mount's diameter is 54mm and the distance from the mount to the sensor is 20mm. Three dedicated EF-RF adapters have also had their premieres. Today we will write a bit more about these devices. Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM The lens is intended for use in street, journey, report and documentary photography. Its strength is also the macro. The minimum focus distance is 17cm. The optical system includes eleven elements placed in nine groups and the aperture consists of three blades. The lens' zoom is 0.5x (1:2), it has hybrid image stabilization (Hybrid IS) with the vibration compensation of 5EV. Efficient STM motor is resposible for precise and quick operation of the lens. Its additional property is quiet work. 1). Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM The lens is compact – its dimensions are 74,4 x 62,8mm and it weighs 305g. Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM The producer assures that the new 50mm lens of EOS R standard should be characterized by extraordinary speed of work and the level of details and sharpness should remain of high quality. The strong sides of the lens should also be shallow depth and work in low light. The optical system of the lens consists of fifteen lenses placed in nine groups, among which we have elements which efficiently minimize, for instance, chromatic aberration. The maximum zoom is 0.19x, the aperture consists of nine blades and the minimum focus distance is 40 cm. The lens has a quick and precise USM autofocus. 2). Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM The construction is sealed, its dimensions are 89,8 x 108mm and it weighs 950g. The lens is characterized by perfect control and smoothness of tracking objects during zooming and distancing. The construction is sealed which ensures resistance to splashes. Fluorine coatings will help in keeping the front and back lenses clean. The optical system of the lens consists of eighteen lenses placed in fourteen groups. Among them we will find lenses covered with Air Sphere Coatings (ASC) and Super Spectra Coatings, whose task is to eliminate light reflections, light leaks and flares. In order to limit distortion and chromatic aberration effects, the aspherical lenses were used. The round aperture consists of nine blades and enables work within the full range of focal length (f/4 - f/22). 3). Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM The lens is relatively small – its dimensions are 83,5 x 107,3mm and it weighs 700g. Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM As the producer assures, this is the first full-frame standard zoom lens with the fixed light of f/2. The lens' aperture consists of nine blades and it closes up to the level of f/22. The optical system consists of nineteen lenses placed in thirteen groups. The maximum zoom is 0.18x and sharp photographs can be taken from the distance of no less than 39cm. Numerous elements aiming at eliminating light reflections, image distortions or chromatic aberration have been used in the lens. The device is equipped with a quick and precise USM AF motor which guarantees work on the professional level. The very construction of the lens also seems appropriate for professional use. Apart from the sealing, the construction also has higher resistance to vibrations and hits. 4). Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM The lens' dimensions are 103,8 x 139,8mm ad it weighs 1430g. Nikon D3500 Announcement

Nikon D3500, a budget reflex camera for people who start their adventure with photography, has just had its debiut. Nikon D3500 is seemingly much different than its predecessor (D3400), but still... not so much. D3500 is a lot smaller and lighter (124 x 97 x 70mm - 365g), the ergonomy has significantly improved and the camera "lies" better in the hands. The buttons - although their number has not changed - will be found more intuitively. 1). Nikon D3500 Although the handling of the camera and its menu has been simplified and it is more intuitive, we will not find many novelties when it comes to the equipment. The camera is equipped with the 24MP APS-C sensor, with the ISO range of 100 - 25600. The photographs will be taken with the speed of 5f/s and the video will be recorded in Full HD with the speed of 60 f/s. The autofocus, similarly to the sensor, is a bit archaic solution in the 11-point system. A similar archaic solution seems to be a permanently-mounted display - but let's remember that this is the cheapest body in the producer's offer. 2). Nikon D3500 Good news for the purchasers of D3500 is its 30% more effective battery, which, when fully charged, will enable taking 1550 photographs. A novelty is the Bluetooth module thanks to which we will be able to conveniently send photographs to other devices. The last and possibly the best news is the camera's price as it's lower than the price of D3400 as at its premiere by $150! 3). Nikon D3500 Nikon D3500 can be bought with the 18-55mm lens for $499. The camera should be also available in the set with the AF-P 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED lens and it will cost $850 then. You can buy this camera here.

    Phase One XF IQ4 Announcement

Phase One XF IQ4 - 150 MP still not affordable for the average John Doe. Medium-format backs (54 x 40mm) Phase One IQ4 is a series consisting of three devices: the basic one is equipped with the 150-Mp Sony BSI CMOS sensor, the next one is also equipped with the 150-MP sensor, but this time it's a monochromatic sensor. The last model, Trichromatic, has "only" 100-MP sensor. The new devices, apart from their obvious advantages, now have extended tethering possibilities (Wi - Fi, USB-C, Ethernet), two memory card slots (SD i XQD) and a significantly improved image preview efficiency and working with images. 1). Phase One XF IQ4 The main novelty of the presented Phase One devices is the processor dedicated to Capture One software functions, thanks to which we get not only more preview options but also a possibility of converting RAW files to JPEG or using presets. In the future, a possibility of personalization of RAW files during photography should also be available. As has been mentioned in the first paragraph, Phase One XF IQ4 is not a toy for everyone since the prices range from $48000, for the cheapest Trichromatic, to $55000 for Achromatic. The cameras are to be available in October 2018 and a purchaser will be able to choose any lens from the Blue Ring series. The devices are covered by a 5-year guarantee.

    Nikon XQD Memory Cards Announcement

A grimace of surprise could appear on the faces of many people who were getting to know the specifications of the cameras from new Nikon Z formats and they noticed XQD in the "memory card" section. Today we received an answer relating to this issue. 1). Nikon XQD Memory Cards Today in Japan and in the near future in other countries XQD cards, signed with the Nikon logo, will appear on sales. As for now, these are 64 and 120GB cards which offer the writing speed of 440MB/s. We don't know the prices of the cards yet but after the conversion from yens they amount to $160 and $260, respectively. However, we must realize that until the cards appear beyond Japan, the prices may change and they will possibly increase.

  29. Yesterday's premiere of Nikons Z6 and Z7 with the new ”Z” mount standard had to entail the presentation of the dedicated lenses. Today we're going to briefly discuss three of them: Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S, 50mm f/1.8 S and 35mm f/1.8. The three presented lenses are to satisfy basic standard needs of photographers. They are supposed to be characterized by high quality of the optical system and they are to be quiet, without the focus breathing effect. The detailed specifications are not known yet. Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S The optical construction of the lens consists of fourteen elements placed in eleven groups. One low-dispersion lens, one aspherical ED lens and three standard apsherical lenses have been applied in it. The lens is to ensure brilliant resolution within the whole frame, even at maximum aperture. What's more, it is also to remarkably deal with chromatic aberration. In order to avoid light leaks and flares, the nanocrystalline coatings have been used. The fluorine coating which covers the front lens is to facilitate keeping it clean. 1). Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/4 S Sharp photographs with the use of Nikkor Z 24-70 mm f/4 S will be made from the distance of 30cm within the whole focal length. Price: $999. Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S The optical cosntruction of the lens consists of two low-dispersion (ED) lenses and three aspherical lenses. Similarly to the first lens described today, we can expect remarkable sharpness within the whole frame. According to the producer, this effect should bring the impression of “changing the way f/1.8 lenses will be perceived.” Thanks to reducing chromatic aberration, among other things, the lens is to perfectly fulfil its function while photographing point light sources at night and obtaining “soft and natural blurring” should not be a problem. 2). Nikon Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S Nanocrystalline anti-reflective coatings have been used on the lenses and the AF is supposed to be as quick, quiet and precise as never before. The whole construction has been additionally protected against dust and splashes. Price: $949 Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.8 S The optical system of the last of the lenses described today consist of two ED lenses and two aspherical ones. Similarly to the constructions discussed above, we can expect high resolution within the whole frame. This time in the description the producer mentions extraordinary benefits of reducing longitudinal aberration, exceptional mapping of tiny textures at maximum aperture and, again, high image resolution. 3). Nikon Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.8 S Similarly to the above lenses, this one also applies nanocrystalline coatings and is reistant to splashes and dust. The advanced stepper motor construction is supposed to ensure quick, quiet and precise AF, both during photographing and recording films. Price: $600 During the presentation of the lenses described today, the graphics showing further steps of the company with regard to the premieres of “Z” standard lenses in the next three years was presented. In 2019, three new lenses, headed by the extraordinarily bright Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct, will appear on the market. 4). Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct 5). Nikon Nikkor Z Lens Roadmap
