Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II Announcement

A Chinese producer Yongnuo is strengthening its position among the producers of budget photography equipment. The latest proposition of Yongnuo is the EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens. Its predecessor, Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 appeared on the market in 2014 and we remember it mainly because of its huge similarities to Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 and, of course, the price which was much power than its predecessor's. The producer assures that the II generation is equipped with an improved optical system and a more efficienct AF. The optical system consists of 6 lenses placed in 5 groups, just like its predecessor's. However, the latest construction ensures 46-grade angle of view and the zoom of 0.21x. The new technology of coatings is supposed to ensure the minimization of reflections and light reflections, which can occur during taking photographs in hard conditions. The focusing speed, precision of focal length and light permeability have also been improved. 1). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II The 50mm focal length and the 7-blade aperture with the light of f/1.8 are responsible for focusing. Thanks to them, we can achieve round bokeh and soft blurring. On the lens, we can mount filters with the diameter of 58mm. The minimum focus distance is now 35cm - this parameters has been improved by 10cm. In manual focus adjustment, the focusing distance indicator, which is on the front of the lens, will be useful. 2). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is a compact construction, its dimensions are 75 x 52mm and it weighs 162g. The housing is made of plastic but the whole thing looks solid. The longevity of the Chinese camera should be ensured by the metal bayonet, covered with chrome. In order to avoid problems with the compatibility of various computer operating systems, the producer has resigned from the possibility of direct connection of the lens to computers with the use of the USB cable. YN 50mm f/1.8 II can be updated via the camera. At the moment, Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is available on Ebay. It costs $74 in the version intended for Canon cameras.

    Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 Announcement

It may seem ironic that the camera which resembles the logo of one of the most popular social media is in fact one of very few devices from which we will not be able to post any photographs on social media (maybe apart from the scans). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6, as this is the camera that we're talking about, is a fully analog camera for instant photography. SQ6 records images in the 1:1 format, with the dimensions of 61mm x 61mm, using Instax inserts, which we got to know last year, along with the presentation of Fujifilm Instax Square SQ10 - a digital predecessor of SQ6. Instax inserts with black rims are a novelty. 1). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 In the automatic exposure adjustment mode, SQ6 will do all the work for us. The camera will examine the conditions in which we would like to take a photograph and it will, on the basis of the obtained information, adjust proper shutter speed within the range of 1.6 s to 1/400 s. It will also decide about the necessity of using flash and its power. 2). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 The camera is equipped with 7 photography modes. One of them is the self-portrait mode, which will enter optimal focus and brightness settings. A small mirror placed near the camera's lens will be very helpful in better framing of selfies. 3). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 In the Macro mode, we will be able to take photographs from the distance of 30cm and in the landscape mode - from the distance of more than 2m. The double exposure mode will help in placing 2 photographs on one another, the D (dark) mode will darken and the L (light) mode will brighten the photographs. The camera is equipped with the buttons which enable turning off the flash. On the rear wall, we will find a self-timer button. 4). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 There are also some curiosities: 3 colorful filters placed on the flash - purple, orange and green, with the use of which we will be able to obtain an artistic atmosphere of the "old polaroid" photographs. 5). Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6 is almost square, its dimensions are 118.7 x 128.1 x 58.1mm and it weighs 393g. The camera can be mounted on a tripod. SQ6 will be available in 3 color versions: white pearl, poppy red gold and graphite. It will appear on sale on May 25, 2018.

    Panasonic Lumix DC-FT7 Announcement

The lovers of extreme sports and holiday explorers had to wait 3 years for the new Panasonic device, with the use of which they would be able to record their great discoveries and sports achievements. The successor of FT6, Panasonic Lumix DC-FT7, has just appeared on the market. The main features of FT7 are its shock and water immersion resistance. The camera can be immersed up to 31m and it should remain undamaged after falling onto the hard surface from 2m. The device should also work properly in the temperature of -10°C. 1). Panasonic Lumix DC-FT7 Panasonic FT7 has been equipped with the 1/2.3'' MOS sensor, with the resolution of 20.4Mp. The strengthened waterproof construction of the camera has possibly made the designers use a rather unimpressive f/3.3-5.9 lens with the zoom with the equivalent of 28 - 128mm. We will also not be able to save RAW photographs. 2). Panasonic Lumix DC-FT7 For the first time, Panasonic used an in-built electronic viewfinder in such a device. It has the resolution of 1.17 Mp and the image can be zoomed up to 0.45x. The camera is equipped with a classic 3'' LCD screen (not a touch one). Some of the other functions include 49-point phase-detection autofocus and a possibility of recording films in 4K with the speed of 24f/s. The frame rate can be increased by reducing the resolution of the recorded film - in the case of 1080 up to 30f/s, and in the case of 720p up to 120f/s, which can be played in 4x slow motion. 3). Panasonic Lumix DC-FT7 The original '4K Photo' mode enables the 'extraction' of individual frames from the registered 4K material. They have the resolution of 8Mp. The continuous shooting mode can work with the speed of 10f/s. The camera is equipped with the flash and LED diode, which can be helpful in recording videos and which can be used as a flashlight. 4). Panasonic Lumix DC-FT7 The camera will be sold in three colorful version: black, blue and orange. Panasonic Lumix FT7 is to appear on sale in the summer. It will cost $449.99.

DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 Announcement

Many of you may not surprised with the fact that DJI presents a new drone every half a year. This time it’s Phantom 4 Pro V2.0, which looks exactly like its predecessor which looked exactly like its predecessor which looked… Still, Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is significantly different than the previous model – its blades are 60% quieter and the data transmission is handled by OcuSync. The rest is the same as in the predecessor which was the same as... 1). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 The data transmission system Lightbridge, used for instance in Phantom 4 Pro and Phantom 4 Advanced, has been replaced by a newer solution, OcuSync HD. OcuSync is supposed to ensure data transmission for a distance of 7km and to automatically choose the band between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. OcuSync can also be connected to DJI Goggles RE. 2). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 As has been mentioned before, most of the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 specification remained unchanged in comparison to its predecessors. The drone is equipped with the 20Mp, 1’’ Exmor R CMOS sensor and a lens, with the focal length equivalent of 24 mm and the light of f/2.8, adapted for the use in aerial photography. The optical system consists of 8 elements placed in 7 groups, among which 2 are aspherical lenses. 3). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 registers videos in 4K with the speed of 60f/s and it uses H.264 codec. The image is recorded with the use of D-Long Cine-D profiles, which enable further modifications of the material. Similarly, the images are saved in Adobe DNG. The FlightAutonomy system is yet another thing which won’t be new to the owners of the older DJI drones. Thanks to the system, they will not have to take their new “toy” from the tree or collect its fragments from around the tree. The ActiveTrack system is supposed to ensure that our drone tracks us, or other moving objects, in a way planned in advance by, for instance, making circles around the object. 4). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 - Specification Comparison People willing to buy DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 will have to pay $1500. The dedicated controller costs $300 and a set consisting of the drone, the controller and DJI Goggles costs $2200.

    Photokina 2019+

    until
Photokina will take place annually as of 2018. It will in future thus optimally reflect the fast-paced nature and the ever briefer innovation cycles of an increasingly digitalised industry. As of 2019 the trade fair will also have a new date in May. In addition to innovations from the core areas of the imaging workflow, the entire range of products, applications and services of relevance for imaging shall in future be presented in Cologne. With these changes, the transformation process begun in 2016 shall be consistently continued: under the umbrella of "Imaging Unlimited", photokina last year inspired both exhibitors and visitors and accessed new target groups for the industry. "The digital transformation of the imaging industry is advancing, and thus opening up new perspectives and value creation potential. The new date and the annual cycle should in future make photokina even more attractive to all providers of the imaging ecosystem. In this way, we show the specialised trade, the media and our users an even broader bandwidth of state-of-the-art products, applications and services in Cologne which especially suits the young imaging culture," Rainer Führes, chairman of the board of the photography industry association (PIV) is pleased to state. The imaging ecosystem today also includes, in addition to the core areas from the imaging workflow, trend areas like virtual and augmented reality, cloud computing, as well as image recognition and holography. The growing flood of images and videos must be processed and administered, so that archiving and content management, social media and communities are coming increasingly into focus. Apps and software solutions have become indispensable both for professional use and for the end consumer. Smart home applications and computer-generated imaging are once again increasing in importance. photokina should in future serve as an important international innovation platform. Katharina C. Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH, has a positive perspective on the future of the trade fair: "photokina 2016 has shown us that this traditional brand in our portfolio has lost nothing of its attraction worldwide and in the region. The new concept has been a complete success. photokina has continued to develop further over time, as have the products, services and the market environment presented there. Now we are taking the next logical step by offering a digitally powered product environment an attractive annual platform for presenting the latest innovations and for entering into discussion with traders, specialist users and end customers." For the 2018 event, only the series of days is changing: it will take place from Wednesday, 26.09. to Saturday, 29.09, and thus enables a more compact, more intensive trade fair experience.
