    Nikon Rumors

2019-03-15 Nikon FTZ mount adapter will be included for free with every Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 cameras in the US from next week. 2019-03-12 First photo of new Nikon Z 1 mirrorless camera leaked.
  5. The series of compact Panasonic Lumix TZ cameras will be enriched by a new model – TZ95. The 1/2,3" MOS sensor of a new Panasonic has the resolution of 2,3MP. The Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens has image stabilization and it has the equivalent of 24 - 70mm focal length (for full frame). The lens has also been equipped with the well-known DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology, which is responsible for the speed and focus precision. The speed of AF work is to be one of the main advantages of TZ95 – the camera is to set focus with the speed of 0,1s. In the continuous shooting mode, the speed is 10f/s (AFS) or 5f/s (AFC). The camera is equipped with a buffer which enables saving 26 RAW photographs. 1). Panasonic Lumix TZ Nowadays, no renowned producer of cameras can disregard the needs of film-making lovers. Panasonic TZ95 records videos in 4K (3840×2160) with the speed of 30p/25p (50Hz) and in MP4 with the speed of 24p. Full HD (1920×1080) can be saved in the AVCHD Progressive format or in MP4 (MPEG-4 / H.264), making use of the continuous AF. The High Speed Video mode enables recording films in Full HD with the speed of 120/100 f/s (50Hz.). The users will also have the following modes at their disposal: 4K Photo – photographing fast-moving objects with the speed of 30f/s in 8MP, Post Focus and Focus Stacking. The users will also be able to make time-lapse films and stop-motion animations. At the rear wall of TZ95 we will find the 3"LCD touch screen with the resolution of 1,040,000 points – the screen can be rotated by 180 degrees. The 0,21" LVF viewfinder has the resolution of 2,330,000 points and its zoom ratio is 0,53×. The viewfinder has been equipped with the eye detector thanks to which the image automatically switches between the viewfinder and the screen. The users of the TZ Panasonic cameras will not have problems with operating TZ95, because the ergonomics of the placement of buttons and regulators on the camera’s body hasn’t changed. 2). Panasonic Lumix TZ The camera will be equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity so we will easily send photographs and films to mobile devices. Remote control of the camera’s functions will also be available. TZ95 has the dimensions of around 112 x 69 x 42mm and it weighs 327g. A fully-charged battery enables taking 380 photographs. Panasonic Lumix TZ95 will appear on sale at the end of April.
  6. Skylum Software is not giving up a fight for a leading position with regard to photo editing softwares. The latest Luminar update means, above all, greater effectiveness, speed of work and compatibility with new camera models. A few months ago, Luminar had a great update, whose new component was Digital Asset Manager (DMA) - namely a long-awaited advanced system of photo cataloging. The program's interface was also improved. In addition, the synchronization of photo settings and the functions such as Luminar Looks, Accent AI and AI Sky Enhancer were added. After the update to the 3.0.2 version, Luminar has achieved greater stability and speed. The program runs faster and the files can also be faster copied from and into the catalogs. The new Locate Folder function enables quick finding of photographs saved on a computer. The keyboard shortcuts and a possibility of automatic backup (for Mac OS X) have also been added. In the 3.0.2 update, we will find new additional buttons (gallery and a single image view) on a toolbar. There is also support for new cameras: Nikon P1000, Nikon D3500, Nikon Z 6, Nikon Z 7, Fujifilm GFX 50R, Fujifilm X-T3, Sony HX99, Sony HX95, Sony RX100, Sony RX100 VI, Panasonic Lumix LX100 II, Leica M10-D, M10-P, D-Lux 7 and Hasselblad H6D-100c. We can buy Luminar 3 for $69. For this price, we can install a program on maximally 5 devices.
  7. The series of Leica Q cameras is known for its attractiveness and timeless design. The latest generation uses these advantages, but takes them to a higher level and offers new functions. The camera will perfectly fulfil its role in street, landscape, photojournalism and architecture photography. The camera has a fixed Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH lens, which is in-built in the body. The lens consists of 11 elements placed in 9 groups, among which there are 3 aspherical lenses. If this focal length limits us in any way, the camera is also equipped with the digital 1.2× – 35mm, 1.5× 50mm and 2× 75mm zoom. But if we use it, the image will be simply cropped and its resolution will decrease. 1). Leica Q2 Leica Q2 has a full-frame sensor with huge 47MP resolution. The first generation of the compact camera used “merely” 24MP sensor. The sensor is supported by a well-known Maestro II processor, which enables using the ISO range of 50-50000 and taking photographs (in JPEG and DNG) with the speed of 10f/s. The autofocus is a well-known phase-detection system with 49 AF points. The mechanical shutter has the time range of 60-1/2000s and the electronic one – 60-1/40,000s. 2). Leica Q2 The camera is equipped with the film-making functions and registers materials in 4K (30/24p) and Full HD (120/60/30/24p). The camera’s body is made of the magnesium alloy and is fully sealed. The in-built electronic viewfinder has been made in OLED technology with the resolution of 3.68 million points. The screen is a non-rotating 3’’ touch LCD one with the resolution of 1,040,000 points. 3). Leica Q2 The new Leica Q2 also has wireless functions, namely Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with the possibility of convenient operation of the Fotos mobile application. We should also not complain about the battery capacity. A fully-charged BP-SCL4 rechargeable battery should enable taking 370 photographs. Leica Q2 is already available on sale. As could be expected from Leica, the price is $4,999.
  8. Meike has presented a new MK 85mm f/1.8 MF lens with the Sony E mount, which may satisfy the photographers with a very limited budget. The optical system is based on 9 lenses placed in 6 groups, with the 9-blade aperture. The minimum focus distance is 85mm and the lens is manual. 1). Meike MK 85mm f/1.8 MF The filters with the diameter of 67mm can be mounted on the front lens and the camera's body has been made of plastic. MK 85mm f/1.8 MF is not sealed. As for now, the price of the lens is not known yet, but taking into account the fact that the reflex version with the AF motor costs almost $200, we can expect that the cost of the manual version will be much lower.
  9. Fujinon XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR complements the family of compact fixed FujiFilm lenses, which consists of: XF 23mm f/2 R WR, XF 35mm f/2 R WR and XF 50mm f/2 R WR. The tube of the lens has been made of metal and sealed in nine places, which makes it resistant to dust and splashes. Using the lens in low temperatures (up to -10°C) should also not cause any problems. The lens has the dimensions of 60 × 45.4mm and it weighs 155g. We will be able to mount the filters with the diameter of 49mm on its front. The optical system of the lens is based on 10 elements placed in 8 groups, among which 2 are aspherical constructions. The aperture consists of 9 blades and the nominal hole of f/2,8, which can be closed up to the value of f/22. The focal length has the equivalent of 24mm and ensures 83.2° angle of view. 1). FujiFilm Fujinon XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR With the use of the new FujiFilm lens, we will take photographs from the distance of 17cm. The speed and precision of AF is controlled by the system of internal focusing powered by a stepper motor. FujiFilm Fujinon XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR will appear on sale this month and it will cost $400.
  10. SD Association has presented a new format of the SD and microSD cards which is supposed to ensure 10× greater transfer speed than the best cards which are currently on the market. New SD Express cards are to offer the data read speed at the level of 985 MB/s. The NVMe 1.3 and PCIe 3.1 interfaces will make the cards need much less energy despite their much greater speed. The second great news is the information that Sony and, among others, ProGrade will introduce on sales the CFexpress cards, which have been expected for almost 3 years. The new medium is to be represented in the Tough series, characterized by big resistance to adverse external conditions such as temperature, X-rays, falls and crushing. Additionally, the card buyers may download for free the Media Scan Utility and File Rescue applications, which will inform about the card status, including the level of exploitation of flash memory. They will also enable the recovery of the data lost from the card. The Sony CFexpress cards are to appear on the market at the beginning of summer 2019, in the versions with the capacities of 128, 256 and 512 GB. Their prices are not known yet. In addition, the CFexpress MRW-G1 card reader, which is also compatible with the XQD cards, will appear on sale too.
  11. In 2017, shortly after the premiere of the mirrorless X-T2 camera, its compact X-T20 version was presented. This step must have been effective since FujiFilm has decided to repeat it while introducing the latest mirrorless models, X-T3 and X-T30, on the market. FujiFilm XT-30 described today is nothing else than a minimized X-T3. It is equipped with the fourth generation X-Trans CMOS APS-C sensor with the BSI structure and the resolution of 26MP. The sensor does not have a low-pass filter. The native range of ISO is 160 – 12800 and it can be extended to ISO 80, 100, 125, 25600 and 51200. The electronic system of the camera is controlled by the latest version of the 4-core image processor, X-Processor 4, which is characterized by greater effectiveness and speed of work than its predecessor. 1). Fujifilm X-T30 + Fujinon 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS With the use of the mechanical shutter, FujiFilm X-T30 is able to record materials with the maximum speed of 8f/s. With the use of the electronic shutter and continuous AF, the speed is 30f/s and with the use of 1.25× crop – 30f/s. The films recorded with the use of X-T30 can have the maximum resolution of 4K and can be recorded with the speed of 30 f/s (8-bit 4:2:0, saved on the SD card). In Full HD, the speed increases to 120f/s. We will be able to save films in F-log in the 10-bit 4:2:2 format through the HDMI port. During filming we will have access to FujiFilm plates simulation. The camera also offers the possibility of recording videos in the DCI - 17:9 cinema format. 2). Fujifilm X-T30 + Fujinon 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS A very quick AF is based on 2.6 million of phase detection pixels with which the X-Trans sensor is equipped. It is 4 times more than in the previous generation of mirrorless FujiFilm cameras. Phase detection pixels cover around 100% of the frame, which is to ensure instant focusing also on the objects beyond the center of the frame. There are 425 AF points. The autofocus of X-T30 is to be distinguished by quick and precise work, also in hard lighting conditions (even up to -3 EV). The AF algorithm has been improved – thanks to this, the work of autofocus tracking also got better. Face and eye detection have also been developed. A new "Face Select" function will make it possible to specify which object of the frame is to be a priority when it comes to maintaining focus. The AF has been equipped with eye detection in the AF-C mode and it enables more detailed tracking of the moving face. The advantages of the improved AF are also available during filming. 3). Fujifilm X-T30 FujiFilm made efforts not to make the existing users of X-T20 lost while working with the new camera for the first time. Despite the fact that the functionality and the placement of buttons of both cameras are very similar, X-T30 also offers some new things in this regard. Near the screen there is a joystick which changes the placement of AF but there are no function buttons, which is a bit controversial. A touch LCD screen, which can be rotated in two directions, has 3’’ diagonal and the resolution of 1.04MP. Through the touch screen, we will make all the settings and we will be able to intuitively navigate through the files. We also have virtual buttons at our disposal. The screen of the new camera is now 1.3mm thinner and it better responds to touch. The electronic viewfinder has the resolution of 2.36MP and the zoom of 0.62×. The camera has the dimensions of 118 × 83 × 47mm and it weighs 383g. It is equipped with 1 SD card slot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as USB-C connection. A fully-charged battery should enable us to take 380 photographs. The Fujifilm Camera Remote application will be useful in connecting with mobile devices. The application has been enriched by a new interface and the ‘Album’ function in the latest version. 4). Fujifilm X-T30 + Fujinon 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS Fujifilm X-T30 will appear on sale in March. We will have 2 colors to choose from: black and silver. The third color version is to be available in May. The very body will cost $900. The price will increase to $1000 in a set with the XC 15-45 mm f3.5-5.6 OIS Power Zoom lens, and to $1,300 in a set with 18-55 mm f/2.8-4 lens.

  13. Fujifilm FinePix XP140 – a new version of a diverse compact camera with an improved construction targeted at the lovers of active recreation. In its latest version, the "indestructible" Fujifilm is more resistant than its predecessor in every respect. Its inside has also been made more modern and the ergonomics has been improved. XP140 successfully takes photographs even at the depth of 25m. It is also resistant to dust and it endures falls from the height of 1.8m and it is not afraid of low and high temperatures – the camera can work in the temperature of up to -10°C. Compared to the older model, the body's ergonomics has been slightly improved. Now it is much easier to operate the camera with the use of one hand and the battery door has a double lock mechanism. 1). Fujifilm FinePix XP140 The camera has been equipped with the 16.4MP ½ 3" CMOS BSI sensor with the maximum ISO sensitivity of 12800 and a new image processor. We have a 5× optical zoom with image stabilization. This parameter can be increased to 10× thanks to the use of the intelligent digital zoom option. A small revolution also involves filmmaking – now the camera records films in 4K. 2). Fujifilm FinePix XP140 The improved "Automatic Scene Recognition" mode of XP140 is able to detect the type of scene and the main object of frame and, on the basis of the gathered data, optimize the settings in order to obtain a photograph with the most satisfactory features. "Eye Detection" automatically sets focus on the eyes of a person and various modes of trigger work give, for instance, a possibility of shutter release when the camera detects face or smile on the face of the photographed person. The camera has been equipped with 17 "Advanced filters", including "Rich & Fine" and "Monochrome (NIR)" – we will operate all of these through a new user interface equipped with live preview. The wireless connectivity of Fujifilm XP140 takes place via Bluetooth. With the use of it, we can transfer files, synchronize the data concerning time and location of the taken photographs as well as use remote photography. In this case, the Fujifilm Camera Remote function will prove useful. We may also wirelessly send photographs to the Instax Share printer. 3). Fujifilm FinePix XP140 Fujifilm FinePix XP140 has the dimensions of 109,6 × 71 × 27mm and it weighs 207g, together with the battery (lithium-ion NP-45S). The camera meets the IP68 norm. There will be 5 color versions: white, silver, yellow, blue and green – each color will be combined with black. The camera will appear on sale in March this year and it will cost $230.

  15. The owners of the cameras from the Canon EOS R system have just received the information concerning the premiere of the lenses of this system in 2019. In the upcoming months, we may expect six RF lenses: two portrait 85mm f/1.2 lenses (one is equipped with the Defocus Smoothing function), the reportage 15-35mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses with fixed f/2.8 light and the “travel zoom” with the universal range of 24-240mm f/4 - 6.3. 1). Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 Canon is moving forward and after the recent premiere of a very interesting professional full frame EOS RP camera, it has announced 6 RF lenses for this system which should debut this year. 2). Canon RF 15-30mm f/2.8L IS USM The range of the announced lenses is opened by 2 bright portrait lenses targeted at advanced and professional photographers. RF 85mm f/1.2L USM is to be characterized by the highest image quality. RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM DS has been equipped with the Defocus Smoothing function, which should guarantee malleable background blurring with the bokeh effect. In the case of the second lens, we can expect the use of the apodizing filter which will make it possible to obtain smooth contours in the unfocused areas. This will, in return, give “the three-dimensionality effect” to the photographs. 3). Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM The next 3 lenses are the reportage ones. RF 15 - 35mm f/2.8L IS UMS has been created having in mind architecture, interior and landscape photographs. It is also a proposal worth considering during the photography of special events. The RF 24-70 mm f/2.8L IS USM zoom will be a diverse one, perfect for reportage photography. The producer assures that the lens will be a perfect choice for filmmaking. The last lens from the “reportage trinity” is a stabilized RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM tele-lens which will perfectly fulfil its role in sports, documentary and nature photography as well as in taking portraits. 4). Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM, thanks to a wide range of focal lengths, is to become a true “work horse” among the announced lenses. Its recipients will be both professionals and advanced amateurs. The device is also an optimal travel companion, both when it comes to the diversity of uses (photo/video) and its small size. 5). Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM We will have to wait for the dates of premieres, prices and detailed specifications of the lenses.
  16. Nikon fulfils its promise – a professional Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S zoom announced during the premiere of the new Nikon Z system has appeared on sale. The lens is not an adaptation – it has been designed from scratch and its main property is the optical system with high resolution, a new Nikon Multi-focus system, a function button with a possibility of assigning one of 21 options, the OLED screen and diverse forms of protection against damages and dirt, which result from work in hard conditions. „Dirk Jasper, Product Manager at Nikon Europe, said: "With just one lens, the Nikkor Z 24-70mm 1: 2.8S offers the perfect combination of compact design and professional performance. It shows all elements of the scene with realistic clarity and thanks to the absolutely weatherproof insulation, you can use the lens anywhere. Picture in full area. Extremely close to efficiency (minimum focal length 0.38 meters)” 1). Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S "The Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is the lens that Z Series users have been waiting for, a lens that many photographers and videographers would never leave home without,” said Jay Vannatter, Executive Vice President, Nikon Inc. “Lightweight and tack sharp, the 24-70mm f/2.8 S is a great example of the outstanding performance and portability that is possible with our next-generation Z Mount System." 2). Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S has been designed putting emphasis on functionality and resistance. The lens’ tube has been sealed which is to ensure resistance to dust, splashes and the influence of low and high temperatures. The lens is also 25% smaller and 18% lighter than its "reflex-camera" equivalents, which will surely positively influence the ergonomics of work. 3). Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S + Nikon Z 7 New Nikkor Z zoom has been equipped with a configuration control ring – in the "out of the box" version, manual focus adjustment has been assigned to it but the users will be able to choose silent aperture control or change exposition compensation. We may read the information concerning the parameters of aperture, focal length, distance and focus depth from the OLED screen placed on the housing. The L-Fn button enables assigning one of 21 options such as AF blocking, exposition measurement or bracketing. 4). Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S + Nikon Z 7 The optical system of the lens has been constructed based on 17 elements placed in 15 groups – among them we will find two low-dispersion lenses (ED) and four aspherical lenses. Thanks to the use of the Nano Crystal coating and a new Areno coating, light reflections and “flares” during photography in hard lighting conditions have been limited to minimum. The fluorite coating has been used on the front and back lens, which is to reduce the susceptibility of elements to dirt. The lens aperture has 9 blades and a nominal hole is f/2.8 – we will close it up to the value of f/22. The focusing system of Nikon Multi-Focus works thanks to the use of a stepper motor (STM) and two actuators which move two focal length groups at the same time, which ensures immediate re-focusing in all conditions. Nikkor Z 24-70 mm f/2.8 S will appear on sale this spring and it should cost $2,300.
