A few days ago a new Leica C-Lux, one of the best 1'' compact cameras on the market, had its debut on the market. The camera is equipped with the 20.1MP 1" MOS sensor with the ISO range of 125-25600. We will be able to save up to 28 RAW photographs with the speed of 10f/s. Still, these are not parameters thanks to which we will be certain that we want to buy the Panas... sorry, Laica camera. The biggest advantage of this camera is its lens. C-Lux is the equivalent of 24-360mm and this parameter should fulfil its role in all kinds of photography. The lens is equipped with quick autofocus which uses 'Depth From Defocus' technology and 5-axis stabilization system. 1). Leica C-Lux At the back of the camera, there is a 3'' LCD TFT touch screen, with the resolution of 1.24MP and (almost) classic viewfinder. with the resolution of 2.33MP - 0.53× zoom. 2). Leica C-Lux Leica C-Lux enables Wi-Fi connectivity, thanks to which we can remotely control the camera or conveniently send photographs, for instance to a smartphone. With the use of the camera we can record films in 4K (3840×2160), with sufficient speed of 30f/s, out of which each frame with the size of 8MP can be extracted and used as a photograph. 3). Leica C-Lux As could be expected from Laica, C-Lux is a very elegant camera. It will be available in light gold and dark blue and we will be able to use a wide range of colorful accessories, specially created by the company for this model. 4). Leica C-Lux Leica C-Lux will appear on sale in July 2018 and it will cost $1,050. Without a wide range of colorful accessories, and with Lumix signature, the described camera can be bought already and we can save $250. You can find full specification of new Leica C-Lux in our database and also you can pre-order this camera here. 5). Leica C-Lux

Many of you may not surprised with the fact that DJI presents a new drone every half a year. This time it’s Phantom 4 Pro V2.0, which looks exactly like its predecessor which looked exactly like its predecessor which looked… Still, Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is significantly different than the previous model – its blades are 60% quieter and the data transmission is handled by OcuSync. The rest is the same as in the predecessor which was the same as... 1). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 The data transmission system Lightbridge, used for instance in Phantom 4 Pro and Phantom 4 Advanced, has been replaced by a newer solution, OcuSync HD. OcuSync is supposed to ensure data transmission for a distance of 7km and to automatically choose the band between 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. OcuSync can also be connected to DJI Goggles RE. 2). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 As has been mentioned before, most of the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 specification remained unchanged in comparison to its predecessors. The drone is equipped with the 20MP, 1’’ Exmor R CMOS sensor and a lens, with the focal length equivalent of 24mm and the light of f/2.8, adapted for the use in aerial photography. The optical system consists of 8 elements placed in 7 groups, among which 2 are aspherical lenses. 3). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 registers videos in 4K with the speed of 60f/s and it uses H.264 codec. The image is recorded with the use of D-Long Cine-D profiles, which enable further modifications of the material. Similarly, the images are saved in Adobe DNG. The Flight Autonomy system is yet another thing which won’t be new to the owners of the older DJI drones. Thanks to the system, they will not have to take their new “toy” from the tree or collect its fragments from around the tree. The ActiveTrack system is supposed to ensure that our drone tracks us, or other moving objects, in a way planned in advance by, for instance, making circles around the object. 4). DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 - Specification Comparison People willing to buy DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 will have to pay $1500. The dedicated controller costs $300 and a set consisting of the drone, the controller and DJI Goggles costs $2,200.

The latest Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens will be a perfect reason to choose mirrorless cameras of this producer for many professionals. It seems the lens, announced not so long ago, will be a great choice. The optical system is based on 13 lenses placed in 9 groups, in which we will find both apsherical lenses, and the UD element, which is to guarantee perfect resolution within the whole frame. The producer boasts that it is the lens of the highest resolution within the RF series. The Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics technology, which is supposed to limit chromatic aberration almost to zero, has been applied in the lens. We also have ASC coatings (AIr Sphere Coating), which limit light leaks and flares. 1). Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM The 9-blade aperture can be closed up to f/16. The minimum focus distance is 85mm. The autofocus is an almost silent USM motor which, in connection with the Dual Pixel AF system and eye detection, is to ensure perfect performance. 2). Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM has been fully sealed and it offers the function ring to which we can assign specific camera functions, similarly to other RF constructions. The lens enables mounting 82mm filters, it has the dimensions of 117 × 103mm and it weighs 1195g. The lens will appear on the market in June and it will cost $2,699.

We've known for a few months that Nikon has been working on the eye AF function, but a few days ago this function became widely available thanks to the firmware update to 2.0. The function works both in the case of AF-S measurement and AF-C measurement. In the case of detecting eyes of many people, one can use the multi-function selector or additional selector and choose the eye on which the focus should be adjusted. What's more, Nikon has increased the sensitivity of the whole AF system to the value of -2 EV in Z 7, and to the value of -3,5 EV in Z 6. Another novelty is individual exposition measurement for full frame, conducted in a quick continuous shooting series. Online materials which are available up to this point present very positive opinions about eye AF in the AF-S mode. Unfortunately, this function works much worse in the case of the autofocus in the AF-C mode. Still, Nikon deserves recognition since it managed to implement this function to the first series of mirrorless cameras (it seems, a bit under the pressure of users) although it wasn't its plan during the premieres of Z 6 and Z 7. You can download firmware v2.0 for the Z6 and Z7, head on over to the Nikon Download Center.

Olympus OM-D E-M1X is the most advanced camera with the M43 sensor. The ergonomics at the level of the reportage bodies in connection with the compact optical system of M43 as well as a range of groundbreaking functions such as the High Res Shot mode without the use of a tripod, the stabilization with the effectiveness of 7.5 EV or the 18f/s continuous shooting mode, make the camera a very interesting alternative for heavy DSLR camera systems. The camera will perfectly fulfil its role in reportage and sports photography as well as in every other kind of photography in which the shooting rate and the resistance of the body are of crucial importance. The sensor also has an improved ultrasonic waves filter which vibrates 30 thousand times per second and is to significantly decrease the possibility of making the sensor dirty during lens replacement. Of course, the sensor is stabilized and the stabilization effectiveness is at a record-high level of 7.5EV for the focal length of 100mm (the equivalent of 200mm for full frame). This means that in most situations we should be able to take photographs without a tripod. The system is supported by a double, four-core TruePic VII processor which is responsible for the body’s effectiveness. E-M1X is very quick. In the case of the continuous shooting mode, we will be able to take photographs in full resolution with full AF support with the speed of 18f/s (60f/s – in the case of blocking focusing). Besides that, we also get the Pro Capture mode which will save up to 35 frames in the buffer in the RAW format before pressing the shutter so that we do not lose a photograph even if our reflex will fail us. The camera has been also equipped with the ND filter simulation mode (the ND2-ND32 range) which works in real time and which should enable getting rid of physical filters and the flicker scanning technology, which should limit the “artifacts” appearing during photography in artificial flickering light with the use of the electronic shutter. The life cycle of the mechanical shutter amounts to 400k cycles. The autofocus is based on the phase-detection system and 121 cross points, it has the sensitivity of up to -6EV (with the f/1.2 lenses) system, which does not only offer greater freedom with regard to the selection of a proper mode (the group of 25 AF points or non-standard AF field settings), but it is also equipped with new algorithms responsible for tracking objects. The AF recognizes objects on photographs and quickly analyzes the saved images in order to better deal with unpredictable movements of a photographed aim. We also get the intelligent object detection function which will automatically track, for instance, cars, planes or trains which appear in the frame. Olympus OM-D E-M1X is also equipped with the advanced video functions. The camera enables recording films in the Cinema 4K (4096 × 2160px) resolution with the speed of 24f/s and in the standard 4K (3840 × 2160px) with the speed of 30f/s and the IPB or AII-I compression. Besides that, we can also record films with a flat image profile OM-Log 400 or record Full HD materials in slow motion with the speed of 120f/s. Of course, in the film mode we can use full support for the stabilization system, which offers 3 modes of work optimized in terms of video-filming. E-M1X has been equipped with a rather humble electronic viewfinder with the resolution of 2.36MP and the 3.2’’ rotating touch screen. The camera also has two SD card slots (UHS-II), the GPS module and the in-built system of detectors (thermometer, manometer, compass), which will make it possible to save additional metadata on the photographs. As could be expected from the E-M1X reportage cameras, it has the in-built vertical grip, which holds two batteries BLH-1 and makes it possible to take 2580 photographs without charging. When required, we may charge them directly in the camera within 2 hours. The body is, of course, sealed against dust and splashes as well as resistant to frost up to -20º. The whole camera weighs 997g (together with the batteries) and it has the dimensions of 144,4 × 146,8 × 75,4mm. Already in December the owners of full-frame cameras with Canon EF mounts will be able to equip themselves with a new, uniquely bright lens of the premium class - Samyang XP 35mm f/1.2. As the Korean producer assures, it will be the only such bright construction available on the market. The lens has been constructed based on 12 lenses placed in 10 groups. Among them are 2 aspherical lenses, 3 lenses with high refractive index and one low-dispersion element. The construction is to ensure extraordinary resolution, contrast and perfect correction of distortion and aberration. The lenses are covered with UMC coatings whose task is to limit light reflections and flares. The lens “is ahead of its times” when it comes to offering compatibility with the cameras working in the resolution up to 50MP and the 8K video recording. 1). Samyang XP 35mm f/1.2 The aperture of Samyang XP 35mm consists of 9 blades and it can be closed up to f/16 which, in connection with the superior brightness of the lens, is to ensure unique blurring. Sharp photographs can be taken from the distance of 34cm. The lens has the dimensions of 117 × 93mm and it weighs 1.1kg. The filters with the diameter of 86mm can be mounted on the front lens. Samyang XP 35mm f/1.2 will appear on sale already in December - unfortunately, the producer is not planning sales in Europe. Luckily, nowadays it's not an obstacle since Europeans and the residents of the rest of the planet can make use of online sales, for example via Ebay or Amazon. Of course, if they have a positive balance of $1,099 on their bank accounts. 2). Samyang XP 35mm f/1.2 - Sample Photo © Fabrizio Zampetti 3). Samyang XP 35mm f/1.2 - Sample Photo © Ruslan Merzlyakov

Viltrox, the company known up to this point as a producer of photography accessories has entered the range of the producers of lenses. The first lenses are manual PFU RBMH 20mm f/1.8 ASPH and PFU RBMH 85mm f/1.8 constructions, intended for use with mirrorless Sony cameras. They are also equipped with the AF motor, dedicated for Fujifilm PFU RBMH 85mm f/1.8 STM cameras. Viltrox PFU RBMH 85mm f/1.8 STM is a portrait lens with the autofocus equivalent of 135mm - the lens is for now intended for use with Fujifilm cameras. The optical system consists of 10 lenses placed in 9 groups, the aperture has 9 blades which are moved by STM (the stepper motor). Sharp photographs can be taken from the distance of 80cm. The lens is small, its dimensions are 80 × 92mm and it weighs 636g. 1). Viltrox PFU RBMH 85mm f/1.8 STM Viltrox PFU RMBH 85mm f/1.8 lens in the second version is intended for Sony cameras. The construction of the lens does not have the autofocus. The optical system has also changed - 10 lenses in 7 groups. Other parameters look unchanged and the device's weight decreased by 10g. 2). Viltrox PFU RMBH 85mm f/1.8 Viltrox PFU RMBH 20mm f/1.8 ASPH is a manual lens intended for wide-angle camera lovers. The device is based on 12 lenses placed in 9 groups, among which one is the aspherical one and 4 are made of the ED glass. The lens is equipped with the 14-blade aperture - sharp photographs can be taken from the minimum distance of 25cm. 3). Viltrox PFU RMBH 20mm f/1.8 ASPH The lens has the dimensions of 102 × 76.8mm and it weighs 775g - on the front lens we will mount filters with the diameter of 82mm.

Without the never-ending guesses and speculations, almost secretly, a full-frame mirrorless Canon EOS R camera had its premiere in Nobu hotel in London. Together with the new body, four lenses and a number of additional accessories also had their debuts. The CMOS sensor of the new Canon has 30.3MP and it is supported by the DIGIC 8 processor. The ISO range is 100 – 40,000, with a possibility of extension to ISO 50 - 51200. During continuous shooting the camera's speed will amount to 8f/s. The system called “Digital Lens Optimator” should take care of aberration correction by sending information from the lens to the camera's body. EOS R is a speed demon when it comes to AF, it adjusts sharpness in 0.05s and the number of settings combinations amounts to 5655 autofocus points, thanks to the “drag and drop function” on the touch screen - Touch And Drag AF. Focus adjustment should work up to -6EV. 1). Canon EOS R Canon EOS R is equipped with an electronic OLED viewfinder with the resolution of 3.69 million points, 0.76× zoom and the eyepoint of 23mm. At the back wall there is a 3.2'' LCD screen with the resolution of 2.1 million points – the screen is a touch one and it can be rotated. Still, we will not find the AF joystick, the PASM knob, the mode lever as well as the knob known from the producer's reflex cameras. The camera can register videos in 4K with the speed of 30f/s, with the C-Log profile and it sends 10-bit signal with 4:2:2 sampling through HDMI. EOS R has been sealed so you can photograph with the use of it in hard weather conditions. It can also work completely silently in the “Silent LV Shooting” mode. 2). Canon EOS R A complete novelty of new Canon is the Multifunctional Touch Bar – a bar next to the viewfinder which can be touched or moved with your finger, allowing instant modification of a chosen camera function. The camera's Bluetooth is always on, which should have an impact on the battery's durability. If we're talking about power supply, the new BG-E22 grip will hold two LP-E6N batteries and it will be able to fulfill the function of the USB charger. Another novelty presented together with the camera is Canon Speedlite EL- 100 flash light, with a possibility of reflecting light from the walls and the ceiling. 3). Canon EOS R The four presented lenses are as follows: RF 24–105mm f/4L IS USM, RF 28–70mm f/2L USM, RF 35mm f/1.8 MACRO IS STM and ER 50mm f/1.2L USM. The bayonet's diameter of the new RF system is 54mm and the optical glass is 20mm from the sensor. All lenses have an additional multifunctional ring which facilitates control over the system. Together with the lenses, three adapters, enabling mounting EF and EF-S lenses on new mirrorless Canon cameras, were presented. One of the adapters is equipped with a ring fulfilling a function similar to the ring which can be found in the new lenses, the other one enables the use of inserted polarizing or gray filters. 4). Canon EOS R Canon EOS R body will cost $2200. In a set with the 24-105mm f/4L lens, the price will rise to $3,399. Three of the presented lenses will be available in December and their prices will amount to (approximately): Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM - $3000 Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM - $1100 Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM - $500 Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM will appear on sale next month and it will cost $2999. You can find full specification of new Canon EOS R in our database and also you can pre-order this camera here.

These are the first full-frame mirrorless cameras of the producer and they are additionally equipped with a much bigger lens mount - Z-Mount. The Z 6 model has been created to ensure the best possible results in low light. If the camera was not equipped with only one memory card, it would be perfect for reporting and wedding photography. Nikon Z 6 is equipped with the 24.5MP BSI CMOS sensor and the 5-axis vibration stabilization system (with the estimated effectiveness of 5 EV). The sensor is supported by the latest-generation EXPEED 6 processor which enables work within the ISO range of 100-51200 and photographing with the maximum speed of 12f/s. Besides that, we also get the hybrid (contrast-detection and phase-detection) AF system based on 273 points, which covers 90% of the frame vertically and horizontally and which is going to be fully useful also while recording films. When it comes to the film mode, Z 6 enables recording films in 4K UHD (3840 × 2160 pixels) with the speed of 30f/s, in the full-frame mode. In the case of Full HD films, the highest available speed is 120f/s, which will be surely appreciated by slow-motion fans. What’s more, even while recording in 4K, we get the electronic vibration reduction support and the camera enables saving images in the “flat” Nikon N-log profile as well as issuing 10-bit signal to external recorders with the use of HDMI. The camera will surely not disappoint when it comes to the preview since the device is equipped with the electronic OLED viewfinder with the resolution of 3.690.000 points and the 0.8× zoom. In addition, the eyepiece is covered with the fluorine coating, which will facilitate keeping it clean. We also shouldn’t forget about an auxiliary LCD screen placed on the upper panel. The camera’s body has been sealed against dust and splashes. It has two control knobs and the AF joystick on the back panel as well as the PASM knob. Unfortunately, there is only one memory card slot (XQD). Unluckily, we will not find the dedicated measurement mode control button, the AF switching lever and the serial mode switch. Still, it’s worth noticing that we get three user modes and function buttons, which, after configuration, should ensure convenient camera control. The producer has also made sure that the handling of the camera should not cause any problems to the existing Nikon users. The camera has the menu taken from top reflex cameras, together with a handy panel which will enable the regulation of the most important photography parameters. If you deal with video post-production and you think that a monthly bank transfer with “Adobe” in the title is the only way, then today we have an alternative for you – DaVinci Resolve 15. DaVinci Resolve in its basic version is a fully free software – it's good news for people who are just starting their adventure with post-video production but also for the ones who need a good tool only from time to time. The basic version is fully functional and it enables satisfactory film editing, at the same time not losing anything from the convenience and functionality of the full paid version. If we're talking about convenience and functionality, the just announced DaVinci Resolve 15 combines the functions which were up to this point available in separate programs. Thanks to this we can work in particular panels of the program on one screen – there is no need to switch between many programs. Special effects, sound mixer, color grading – all in one place. Such a functionality cannot be found in competitive Adobe products. In the latest version we will find more than 250 tools for video editing. Some of them can be seen on the video below but it should be stressed that this is only the top of the iceberg. If you want to go deeper into the program's secrets, you have a pdf document of 2642 pages at your disposal as well as BlackMagic's forum where you can find DaVinci Resolve manuals in more compact forms. DaVinci Resolve 15 in its basic version is free, the "Studio" version involves a one-off payment of $299. For almost $300 we get many additional tools, including: noise reduction, special effects library or support for several graphics cards. People who have a paid 14 version will get a free update. DaVinci Resolve 15 works on Windows 10, Mac OS (min. 10.12.6) and Linux. Minimum hardware requirements amount to 16 GB RAM or, in the case of working in Fusion module for creating special effects, to 32 GB RAM. More info on the website.

Something that has until now existed only in the world of speculations and rumors today became something real - Nikon confirmed the date of premiere of an advanced mirrorless camera with new mount, possibly in the FX format. A few days ago, the producer presented a photograph showing an outline of a mysterious camera and a cryptic advertising spot, under the title of "Travel of Light", appeared on YouTube. Today we finally got to know the date of the premiere of the new camera – it’s going to be 23rd August 2018. At the home page of the producer’s website there is a countdown timer counting 25 days from now and above it we can find a slogan: "In pursuit of light". The whole thing is stylistically close to the presented photographs and the film. 1). Nikon Mirrorless Camera As for now, it’s hard to say anything about the specification of the new Nikon baby. The rumor has it that it is going to be a direct rival of Sony A7 III. However, we already know that the camera will be equipped with a completely new mount to which (again, that’s a rumor) we will be able to mount lenses with the brightness of up to f/0.95. The buyers of the new Nikon will not have to get rid of the F-mount lenses which they had used until now – such lenses will be fit for use with an adapter. We could certainly write much more – the Internet is full of speculations, but let’s wait patiently until the date of the premiere, which is only a month from now.

Today we've got to know the details of a new Nikon camera - Coolpix P1000. P1000, apart from the typical functions, such as recording 4K videos, stands out since with the use of it we can photograph craters on the moon and top-secret objects on the sky over Area 51. 1). Nikon Coolpix P1000 A special feature of Nikon P1000 is the lens capable of 125× zooming, with the equivalent of 24 - 300mm and the light of f/2.8-8. The producer assures that thanks to these parameters we will be able to take photographs of craters on the moon. Coming back to earth, the camera has been designed for wildlife and airplane photographers as well as the photographers of other far-away objects which we cannot approach. The recipients of the camera should be also people who cannot afford a camera and a lens with similar parameters. 2). Nikon Coolpix P1000 Nikon Coolpix P1000 has been constructed based on 16MP 1/2.3'' CMOS sensor which makes it possible to do continuous shooting with the speed of 7f/s. Photographs can be saved in RAW format and videos can be recorded in 4K with the speed of 30f/s, and in Full HD with the speed of 60f/s. 3). Nikon Coolpix P1000 The viewfinder of Nikon P1000 has been constructed in OLED technology and it has 2.36MP resolution. The improvements for vloggers have also been introduced: the camera is equipped with a rotating LCD screen (not a touch one) and a microphone connector. Photographs and videos can be sent via WiFi and Bluetooth. The company's Snapbridge application, enabling, apart from data transfer, remote control of many of the camera's functions, is supposed to facilitate this process. 4). Nikon Coolpix P1000 Nikon Coolpix P1000 is not a small compact camera with a long lens. The camera has the dimensions of 146mm × 119mm × 181mm and it weighs 1415g. Thanks to these parameters, the camera will match full-size flash cameras. 5). Nikon Coolpix P1000 Nikon P1000 will be available on sale in September and it will cost $999. 6). Nikon Coolpix P1000 You can find full specification of new Nikon P1000 in our database and also you can pre-order this camera here.

Canon presented the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens, dedicated for professionals. Unfortunately, no breakthrough has taken place and the changes in comparison to the predecessor are rather minor. The optical system consists of 23 elements placed in 19 groups (5 low-dispersion lenses and one fluorite lens), the 8-blade aperture can be closed up to the value of f/32 and the stabilization system has the efficiency of 3.5 EV. The lens is equipped with an ultrasonic ring autofocus drive – the minimum focus distance is 1.2m. One of very few novelties of a new lens are anti-reflective ASC coatings. The front and rear lens have been covered with fluorite coatings, which help in keeping the lenses clean. 1). Canon EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS III USM The body of the lens presented today is made of magnesium and fully sealed, thanks to which it is resistant to dust and splashes. In the set, we will find a tripod mount and a sun shield. The lens weighs 1,440g and its dimensions are 89 × 199mm. The lens will appear on sale in August 2018 and it will costs $2,100.

A few significant improvements, compared to the first generation from 2010, can be found in the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II lens, presented a few days ago. The stabilization system has the efficiency of 5EV and it offers three modes of work: for static shots, for photographing of fast-moving objects and for panning shots. The system is also quieter than its predecessor. 1). Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 IS II The optical system consists of 20 elements placed in 15 groups, including one fluorite lens and two low-dispersion lenses. The front and rear lens have been covered with fluorite coatings, which help in keeping the lenses clean. In order to minimize light flares and light reflections, Super Spectra Coatings were used. The lens is equipped with an ultrasonic ring autofocus drive – the minimum focus distance is 1m. The lens has the dimensions of 80 × 176mm and it weighs 780g. Canon EF 70-200 mm f/4L IS II is to appear on sale this month and it will cost $1,300.

A Chinese producer Yongnuo is strengthening its position among the producers of budget photography equipment. The latest proposition of Yongnuo is the EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens. Its predecessor, Yongnuo 50mm f/1.8 appeared on the market in 2014 and we remember it mainly because of its huge similarities to Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 and, of course, the price which was much power than its predecessor's. The producer assures that the II generation is equipped with an improved optical system and a more efficient AF. The optical system consists of 6 lenses placed in 5 groups, just like its predecessor's. However, the latest construction ensures 46-grade angle of view and the zoom of 0.21×. The new technology of coatings is supposed to ensure the minimization of reflections and light reflections, which can occur during taking photographs in hard conditions. The focusing speed, precision of focal length and light permeability have also been improved. 1). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II The 50mm focal length and the 7-blade aperture with the light of f/1.8 are responsible for focusing. Thanks to them, we can achieve round bokeh and soft blurring. On the lens, we can mount filters with the diameter of 58mm. The minimum focus distance is now 35cm - this parameters has been improved by 10cm. In manual focus adjustment, the focusing distance indicator, which is on the front of the lens, will be useful. 2). Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is a compact construction, its dimensions are 75 × 52mm and it weighs 162g. The housing is made of plastic but the whole thing looks solid. The longevity of the Chinese camera should be ensured by the metal bayonet, covered with chrome. In order to avoid problems with the compatibility of various computer operating systems, the producer has resigned from the possibility of direct connection of the lens to computers with the use of the USB cable. YN 50mm f/1.8 II can be updated via the camera. At the moment, Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.8 II is available on Ebay. It costs $74 in the version intended for Canon cameras.

Eizo has announced a display, which is a successor of the CG318-4K model, presented in 2014. The display is targeted at professional graphic artists, photographers and filmakers, for which color science is a priority. Eizo ColorEdge CG319X DCI-4K HDR, similarly to its predecessor, is equipped with the 31.1'' IPS sensor in the DCI-4K format (4096 x 2160 pixels), which offers the contrast of 1500:1 and the brightness of 350 cd/m2. The Adobe RGB gamut coverage is 99%, and the DCI-P3 space - 98%. The screen is also equipped with the display support and HDR (Hybrid Log-gamma function) material processing. The user can quickly switch between 9 gamuts (REC2020, REC709, DCI, PQ_DCI, PQ_REC2100, HLG_REC2100, Adobe RGB, sRGB). 1). GoPro has added to its offer a new budget version of its flagship product - GoPro Hero. This model is supposed to satisfy the needs of less demanding users who do not need all the functions of Hero6. The new model enables recording films in FullHD 60p as well as taking photographs with the resolution of 10MP and the maximum speed of 10f/s. With the use of this camera, we can also record timelapses. 1). GoPro Hero When it comes to the construction, the new GoPro Hero is practically the same as the top model - we have a 2'' touch screen on the back wall and a monochromatic screen on the front wall. The camera is equipped with the voice control functions and it is compatible with Quick Stories. It has electronic image stabilization. Similarly to Hero6, the camera's housing is sealed (it can be immersed up to 10m without any additional housing) and it is resistant to falls. GoPro HERO is already available on the market and it costs $200. The price seems attractive when compared to the top Hero6 model, which costs twice as much. However, the main rival of the model, YI Lite, costs $100 and it offers practically the same parameters.

Huawei is a company which presented the first smartphone with double camera 2 years ago. Now, it has again beaten the competitive companies by presenting a smartphone which is equipped with 3 cameras. In comparison to other solutions on the market, Huawei P20 Pro offers two cameras with the same focal length of 27mm, which differ when it comes to the sensor type and the lens brightness. The main module provides a colorful sensor with the resolution of 40MP and the lens with the light f/1.8, whereas the second monochromatic sensor has the resolution of 20MP and the lens brightness of f/1.6. Both sensors are supposed to cooperate, which enables us to obtain better image quality in the case of colorful photographs and work in low light - maximum ISO of 102,400. 1). Huawei P20 and P20 Pro Both cameras cooperate also in the portrait mode, in which, thanks to the stereoscopic view, they make it possible to simulate realistic image blurring. The third camera, similarly to other top smartphones, is a telephoto lens. Its focal length is 80mm and it has the light of f/2.4. The sensor resolution is merely 8Mp. The most interesting thing about the 8Mp module is its software which, by connecting information provided by this sensor with the 40Mp main module, is supposed to enable photographers to make lossless smooth zooms (maximally - 5x ones). The smartphone is also equipped with the fourth, front face camera with the 24Mp sensor, so all selfie lovers should be satisfied. 2). Huawei P20 and P20 Pro When it comes to the technical side, we have at our disposal the following: 8-core Kirin 970 processor with the Mali-G72 MP12 graphic system, 6 GB of RAM, 6,1'' OLED screen with the FHD 1080×2240px resolution, 4000mAh battery and 128GB of storage space. Everything works under Android 8.1. What's more, Huawei P20 Pro automatically recognizes the scene type and adjusts proper photography parameters. It also offers the 3D Portrait Lighting mode, which simulates various lighting types, just like in the case of iPhone X, the movie mode (4K, 60 f/s) and the possibility of recording films in slow motion in HD, with the speed of 960f/s. 3). Huawei P20 and P20 Pro When it comes to the design, Huawei P20 Pro has been largely inspired by iPhone X. The similarities are so big that if it wasn't for the "Home" button and the presence of three cameras, the two phones could be easily mistaken. Unfortunately, the smartphone, similarly to iPhone X, does not offer the headphone connector and the microSD card slot. Besides the P20 Pro model, its simpler and cheaper P20 version will also appear on the market. The P20 model will also offer 2 modules of cameras with the lenses equivalent to 27mm (15MP with the light of f/1.8 and 20MP with the light of f/1.6). This model will have a little worse specification - the 4-core processor, 4GB of RAM and the 3400mAh battery. Both smartphones will appear on sale on 12 April. They will cost around $1110 for the Huawei P20 Pro version and around $800 for the standard version. Here's the P20 Pro camera breakdown: 40-megapixel main RGB (Aperture: F1.8) 8-megapixel telephoto (Aperture: F2.4; has OIS) 20-megapixel monochrome lens (Aperture: F1.6) 24-megapixel front-facing camera (Aperture: F2.0) And here's the Huawei P20 camera sitch: 12-megapixel main RGB (Aperture: F1.8) 20-megapixel monochrome lens (Aperture: F1.6) 24-megapixel front-facing camera (Aperture: F2.0)

For the last few weeks, we have been bombarded by the leaks concerning Nikon D850. Today, exactly at midnight EST, Nikon officially showed its newest creation, which proves that reflex cameras can still be innovative. Impressive resolution of 45MP, fast continuous shooting mode, rich movie-making functions – these are the main features of the D850 model presented today. In many aspects, the camera presented today does not resemble its predecessor. The camera has undergone improvements practically on every level. As a result, we get a new full-frame BSI CMOS sensor, without a low-pass filter, with impressive resolution of 45.7 million pixels, which is supported by the EXPEED 5 image processor, known from Nikon D5. Thanks to this, we can take photographs within the ISO range of 64–25600 (with a possibility to extend to ISO 32–102,400). 1). Nikon D850 Continuous shooting mode also makes a great impression. In D850 we can take photographs with the maximum speed of 7f/s, with full AF support, and after plugging in MB-D18 battery grip and EN-EL18a/b rechargeable batteries, this speed increases up to 9f/s. It is worth remembering that the camera has almost 46MP! What is more, as the producer assures, the camera's buffer will be filled only after taking 51 photographs. The camera is also equipped with a totally silent electronic shutter, thanks to which we will be able to take photographs with the speed of 30 f/s. However, in this mode the photographs will be reduced to 8.6MP. 2). Nikon D850 The autofocus is 153-point AF system with the central point's sensitivity up to -4 EV (other sensitive points up to -3EV). Apart from that, the autofocus is to cover 30% more of the frame than the reporter model D5. The camera is also supposed to perfectly fulfil its role during the recording of videos. In D850, we can record movies in 4K (24/25/30p), in full size of the sensor. In addition, we get a range of helpful functions such as zebra patterning or focus peaking. We will also be able to connect headphones and microphone to the D850 model as well as transfer the uncompressed 4K 8-bit 4:2:2 material through HDMI connector. It is also worth adding that we will be able to record time-lapse movies in 4K. 3). Nikon D850 On the back panel, we will find a folding 3.2'' LCD touch screen, with the resolution of 2.36MP – known from the D500 model. The camera has two slots for memory cards – one for SD, and the second one for XQD. Of course, we can also find wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) as well as use SnapBridge. The body of D850 is, of course, fully sealed. The back and upper walls are made of magnesium alloy whereas the front one is made of material. The camera does not have a built-in flash, which significantly improves its impermeability and durability. The buttons, as in the case of other top bodies, are now illuminated. 4). Nikon D850 Nikon D850 is to appear on sale in September. Most interestingly, it will cost about $3300. You can pre-order this camera here.

The design and construction of Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art bears references to the lens designed in the 19th century by Charles Chevalier, which was used to capture one of the first photographs showing a man, taken by Louis Jacques Daguerre. The lens has already been available in the company's offer for some time, in gold and black color versions. Now, the company is presenting a chrome version. 1). Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art The construction of the lens is very simple. It consists of two elements placed in only one group. Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art has the focal length of 64mm and the light f/2.9. The aperture is the ring Watehouse system, which is rarely used nowadays. 2). Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Of course, the lens doesn't have autofocus. Its minimum focus distance is 0.5m. The lens makes it possible to mount filters with the diameter of 40.5mm. 3). Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lomography Daguerreotype Achromat 2.9/64 Art Lens is already available on sale, with Nikon F and Canon EF mounts. The lens costs $499.

Tamron, just like Sigma, is surprising its customers with a number of premieres and new products introduced on the market. Sigma has dominated the last weeks but now Tamron is taking over, presenting a “very” universal zoom lens Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD with huge focal length 18-400mm (for APC sensors). The lens is perfect for traveling, and many enthusiasts of portrait or sports photography will also find it useful. Inside the lens, we will find the optical system consisting of 16 lenses placed in 11 groups. We also have the image stabilization system at our disposal, which will for sure prove useful during taking photos at long focal lengths (effectiveness of around 2.5 EV). The 7-blade aperture is to take care of image vividness. 1). Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD An advanced HLD (High/Low torque modulated Drive) motor has been used to control autofocus. It is a new construction, in which the emphasis is put on smooth transitions from low to high speed, ensuring at the same time quiet, fast and precise focusing. Minimum focus distance is 45cm. Plastic housing of Tamron 18-400 mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD is sealed and its design is similar to the lenses from the refreshed series, just like in the case of Sigma lenses. 2). Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD For such an impressive focal length range, the lens is exceptionally compact. Its length is 123.9mm and its weight - 710g. Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD will be available with Canon and Nikon mounts. It should appear on sale at the end of July and it will cost around $650.

Apart from the newest flagship smartphone, Samsung also presented the newest version of Gear 360 camera to make spherical photos. What catches the eye the most is the new housing. Instead of a round camera with a mounted mini-tripod we now have one module with a registration button and LCD screen mounted on a handle. In the mount, we also get a tripod thread. The housing is sealed against dust and splashing (IP53). From a technical point of view, a new maximum movie resolution (4096 × 2048 pixels, unfortunately with a maximum speed of 24fps) is most important. In Full HD a maximum speed is 60fps. The image resolution has, unfortunately, decreased from 30 to 15MP, but it may have a positive impact on the quality of photos and movies. The lens still has a f/2.2 brightness. 1). Samsung Gear 360 (2017) From a programming point of view, it is worth mentioning that we have a possibility of streaming the recorded spherical materials live to Youtube, Facebook or Samsung VR, but we have to remember that the device is only compatible with the newest Samsung smartphones. For sure, it won't positively influence the camera's popularity. We don't know the price or the date of availability yet.

We’ve waited more than a year for the premiere of the latest generation flagship model of the Samsung smartphone - and it seems it was worth it. After a disaster concerning the exploding Note 7, Samsung wanted to give its dedicated users something special. Despite the fact that when it comes to photography this model is not revolutionary, Samsung has certainly not disappointed with regard to design and new technologies. The new model will be available in two versions: 8 and 8+: Galaxy 8 with a 5.8’’ screen, and 8+ with a 6.2’’ screen. Both smartphones are equipped with a curved Infinity screen: AMOLED display with 2960 × 1440 (QuadHD+) resolution and a 18,5:9 aspect ratio. The construction is almost devoid of frames. All physical buttons were also removed. The front side looks really impressive. 1). Samsung Galaxy S8 Inside, we will find eight-core processors (either Samsung Exynos 8895 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 835), 4GB RAM and 64GB of built-in memory, which can be increased with the use of microSD cards. A non-replaceable battery with the power of 3000 mAh for Galaxy 8 and 3500 mAh for 8+ is responsible for powering. Both smartphones, similarly to their predecessor, are sealed and, as the producer assures, can be immersed up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. 2). Samsung Galaxy S8 When it comes to the camera, there is, unfortunately, no revolution. There were rumors that the newest version of the flagship model will have 2 cameras, just like the other top models. Unfortunately, the used module possibly comes from the previous version of the camera and was only improved. As a result, we get a 12MP sensor, in which the size of each pixel is 1.4 μm. Of course, we can record movies in 4K and make RAW photos. An image reaches a sensor via a f/1.7 wide-angle lens. A newly designed phase detection autofocus Dual Pixel is responsible for the focus. It is supposed to work better during photographing and recording movies. An application which facilitates photographing was refreshed, and now it ensures photographing in manual mode. Some more improvements involved the front camera, which now has 8 megapixels and f/1.7 brightness. Besides that, we also have autofocus. Selfie lovers will certainly be happy with this fact. 3). Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Lens Construction The new smartphones are also a part of the Samsung mobile devices system. Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ cooperate with new Gear VR. They can also connect with a new Gear 360 camera and record video sequences in 4K in spherical technology (360 degrees) as well as make photos in 15 megapixel resolution. The device can also be transformed into a stationary one with the use of Samsung DeX. Thanks to that, users can now display and edit the data from a phone on an external screen. The new smartphones will be available on sale from 21st April. Unfortunately, we don’t know their prices yet.

The fans of 4/3 system (if there are any) may have expected this for a long time, but only now Olympus has officially confirmed, by mentioning this in their newest catalogue, that they are going to withdraw from the production of lenses and cameras for the 4/3 mount. 4/3 standard appeared on the market in 2003 and was the first digital photographic system. It was intended to be standardised in such a way that other producers could use it. In reality, other companies preferred to go their own ways and create lenses for APS-C sensors. 1). Olympus E-1 Despite the fact that the system was never especially popular, it enjoyed a very good reputation among photographers. In 2008 Olympus decided to introduce the Micro Four Thirds system, and then it was already known that the future will belong to this system. The last camera for this mount had its premiere in 2011.
