  1. As we've also written [link], the new mirrorless Canon EOS R system has debuted on the market together with four completely new lenses, namely: RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro, RF 50mm f/1.2L, RF 24-105 m f/4L IS and RF 28-70mm f/2L. The lenses are equipped with a function ring with the use of which we can control the chosen functions of the camera's menu. The mount's diameter is 54mm and the distance from the mount to the sensor is 20mm. Three dedicated EF-RF adapters have also had their premieres. Today we will write a bit more about these devices. Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM The lens is intended for use in street, journey, report and documentary photography. Its strength is also the macro. The minimum focus distance is 17cm. The optical system includes eleven elements placed in nine groups and the aperture consists of three blades. The lens' zoom is 0.5x (1:2), it has hybrid image stabilization (Hybrid IS) with the vibration compensation of 5EV. Efficient STM motor is resposible for precise and quick operation of the lens. Its additional property is quiet work. 1). Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM The lens is compact – its dimensions are 74,4 x 62,8mm and it weighs 305g. Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM The producer assures that the new 50mm lens of EOS R standard should be characterized by extraordinary speed of work and the level of details and sharpness should remain of high quality. The strong sides of the lens should also be shallow depth and work in low light. The optical system of the lens consists of fifteen lenses placed in nine groups, among which we have elements which efficiently minimize, for instance, chromatic aberration. The maximum zoom is 0.19x, the aperture consists of nine blades and the minimum focus distance is 40 cm. The lens has a quick and precise USM autofocus. 2). Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM The construction is sealed, its dimensions are 89,8 x 108mm and it weighs 950g. Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM It is the first full-frame zoom lens from the L series equipped with the Nano USM autofocus motor. The lens is characterized by perfect control and smoothness of tracking objects during zooming and distancing. The construction is sealed which ensures resistance to splashes. Fluorine coatings will help in keeping the front and back lenses clean. The optical system of the lens consists of eighteen lenses placed in fourteen groups. Among them we will find lenses covered with Air Sphere Coatings (ASC) and Super Spectra Coatings, whose task is to eliminate light reflections, light leaks and flares. In order to limit distortion and chromatic aberration effects, the aspherical lenses were used. The round aperture consists of nine blades and enables work within the full range of focal length (f/4 - f/22). 3). Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM The lens is relatively small – its dimensions are 83,5 x 107,3mm and it weighs 700g. Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM As the producer assures, this is the first full-frame standard zoom lens with the fixed light of f/2. The lens' aperture consists of nine blades and it closes up to the level of f/22. The optical system consists of nineteen lenses placed in thirteen groups. The maximum zoom is 0.18x and sharp photographs can be taken from the distance of no less than 39cm. Numerous elements aiming at eliminating light reflections, image distortions or chromatic aberration have been used in the lens. The device is equipped with a quick and precise USM AF motor which guarantees work on the professional level. The very construction of the lens also seems appropriate for professional use. Apart from the sealing, the construction also has higher resistance to vibrations and hits. 4). Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM The lens' dimensions are 103,8 x 139,8mm ad it weighs 1430g. Adapters The presented adapters enable connecting the new mirrorless EOS R camera with the lenses from the EF and EF-S series. Additionally, the adapters have various properties: the first one has a control ring similar to the ones used in the lenses described today and it also remembers the user's settings irrespective of the used lens. The second adapter enables the use of drop-inn filters such as polarizing filters and gray filters. The last from the presented adapters is the simplest construction which ensures the connection of the EOS R lens with EF and EF-S. 5). Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 6). Canon Drop-In Filter with Circular Polarizer Filter 7). Control Ring Mount Adapter Three of the presented lenses will be available in December and their prices will amount to (approximately): Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM - $3000 Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM - $1100 Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM - $500 Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM will appear on sale next month and it will cost $2999.
