  1. A few significant improvements, compared to the first generation from 2010, can be found in the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS II lens, presented a few days ago. The stabilization system has the efficiency of 5EV and it offers three modes of work: for static shots, for photographing of fast-moving objects and for panning shots. The system is also quieter than its predecessor. 1). Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 IS II The optical system consists of 20 elements placed in 15 groups, including one fluorite lens and two low-dispersion lenses. The front and rear lens have been covered with fluorite coatings, which help in keeping the lenses clean. In order to minimize light flares and light reflections, Super Spectra Coatings were used. The lens is equipped with an ultrasonic ring autofocus drive – the minimum focus distance is 1m. The lens has the dimensions of 80 × 176mm and it weighs 780g. Canon EF 70-200 mm f/4L IS II is to appear on sale this month and it will cost $1,300.
  2. Lucky owners of a mirrorless Hasselblad X1D camera have finally welcomed a new lens - a wide-angle XCD 21mm f/4 model. Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4 has been created having in mind landscape and architecture photography. The optical system consists of 13 elements placed in 9 groups. 2 elements are aspherical lenses. The field of view of the lens is 105 degrees and the minimum focus distance is 32cm. The device is equipped with a central shutter, with the speed of 60m - 1/2000s. The lens weighs 600g. 1). Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4 The 'Phocus' software, used for the edition of RAW photographs, should help in obtaining perfect quality within the whole field. It is also supposed to correct the distortion of the lens. 2). Hasselblad XCD 21mm f/4 The lens can be ordered from the producer's website for $3,750.
  3. Fujifilm has just presented a long-awaited medium-format lens - GF 250mm f/4 R LM OIS WR. Apart from the lens, the GF 1.4X TC WR teleconverter and the MCEX-18G WR 18mm and MCEX-45G WR 45mm macro rings have also had their premieres. Fujinon GF 250mm f/4 R LM OIS WR is a construction consisting of 16 elements placed in 11 groups. Among them we can find two lenses made of ED glass and one made of Super ED glass. The lens has a 9-blade aperture with the maximum light of f/4. With the focal length of 250mm, which is the equivalent of 200mm for full-frame frame, we can expect perfect background blurring. The new lens has been equipped with a quiet and quick autofocus and a new mechanism for adjusting the position of the linear motor. Its minimum focus distance is 1.4 metres. Apart from that, the lens is equipped with the image stabilization with the 5-grade vibration reducing. 1). Fujifilm Fujinon GF 250mm f/4 R LM OIS WR Everything is enclosed in a resistant magnesium body which has the dimensions of 204×108mm and which weighs 1,425g. The lens is, of course, sealed and the front lens is additionally covered with water and dirt resistant fluorite coating. 2). Fujifilm GF 1.4X TC WR Teleconverter Fujifilm has also presented the GF 1.4X TC WR teleconverter, which will extend the focal length of the lens to 277mm (the equivalent for full-frame frame) and two Macro rings: MCEX-18G WR 18mm and MCEX-45G WR 45mm. 3). MCEX-18G WR 18mm and MCEX-45G WR 45mm Macro Rings The GF 250mm f/4 R LM OIS WR lens is to appear on sale at the end of May and it will cost $4,125 dollars. The GF 1.4X TC WR teleconverter will cost $1,060 and the macro rings - $410.
  4. Lenses with the focal length of 70-200mm are one of the most popular zooms on the market. The leading producers have already introduced the cheaper versions of very popular bright lenses with the aperture of f/2.8. Now it's time for Tamron. The optical system of Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD consists of 20 lenses placed in 14 groups, including 3 low-dispersion elements. The lens is also equipped with a 9-blade aperture, which, in connection with the long focal length, enables beautiful background bokeh. 1). Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD The lens is equipped with the ultrasonic ring AF motor, which, when it comes to the effectiveness and speed of operation is supposed to match the best constructions on the market. Similarly to the majority of the 70-200mm lenses, it possesses an internal focusing mechanism, thanks to which it does not change its size. The lens has the image stabilization system with the effectiveness of 4EV. 2). Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD - Construction The body of the lens is made of aluminum. Similarly to other new Tamron lenses, this one is also fully sealed against dust and weather conditions. In addition, the front lens has been covered with a fluorite coating, thanks to which dust and moisture do not stick to it as easily. Optionally, we may purchase a tripod mounting with an integrated Arca-Swiss footer. 3). Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD - Seallings The new Tamron 70-210mm f/4 Di VC USD has the dimensions of 176×76mm and it weighs 860g. The filter diameter is the popular 67mm. The lens will be compatible with the 1,4× and 2,0× teleconverters. Similarly to the latest lenses from the producer's offer, it will be also compatible with the TAP-In Console platform, thanks to which we will be able to micro-adjust the AF system and image stabilization as well as update the lens software. The lens will appear on the market on 26th April, in the versions with the Canon EF and Nikon F mounts and it will cost $800.
  5. Today, a new Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS, the newest G Lens representative, also had its premiere. Exceptional image quality, quick and precise autofocus, and compact construction are the greatest advantages of the new lens. The lens consists of 17 elements, placed in 14 groups. Among them there are four aspheric lenses, including two incredibly precise AA lenses. The front lens has a fluorine coating, which prevents the settling of dust, water, grease, and other forms of contamination. 1). Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS The lens uses DDSSM (Direct Drive SSM) autofocus, which enables to move the groups of lenses responsible for focus adjustment in a quick, precise, and quiet way. The used autofocus should also fulfil its role not only during photographing, but also during film-making. 2). Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS with Sony A7r The presented FE 24-105 mm f/4 G OSS model has the dimensions of 113×83mm and it weighs 663g, which makes it one of the smallest and lightest lenses in its class. Apart from that, the tubus has been sealed and it is resistant to dust and moisture. The universality of the lens is additionally increased by elements such as a focus memory button with the function defined by the user, or the minimum focus distance of 38cm. The lens will be available on sale in November. It will cost around $1,300.
  6. Together with the FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens, Sony also presented a second one – this time, a super wide-angle FE 12-24mm f/4 G zoom, which is, at the moment, the widest lens of the producer. The lens is mainly intended for interior, architectural and landscape photography, and it should also fulfil its role in recording films. The optical lens of Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G consists of 17 elements placed in 13 groups. Advanced aspherical lenses (4 elements) as well as low-dispersion ones (4 elements) have been applied. Nano AR coating as well as the fluorine coating of the front element have been used. 1). Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G with Sony Alpha a7R The lens is equipped with a smaller, 7-blade aperture, and only one ultrasonic DDSSM motor is responsible for adjusting focus. The lens is sealed and it weighs 566g, having the dimensions of 87×117mm. These are really compact dimensions for a full-frame lens with such parameters. Sony FE 12-24mm f/4 G is to appear on sale in July and it will cost $1,700.
  7. As announced, Fujifilm has presented two new lenses for a medium-format GFX 50S camera. The first one is Fujinon GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR - the equivalent of 18mm focal length for full frame. The lens will perfectly fulfil its role in landscape and architectural photography. The construction consists of 15 elements placed in 12 groups (2 aspherical lenses and 3 made of low-dispersion glass). The lens is equipped with a linear autofocus motor and is sealed against the weather. It weighs 0.84kg and has 94x126mm dimensions. 1). Fujinon GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR Fujinon GF 110mm f/2 R LM WR will appear on sale at the end of June and it will cost $2,600.
