  2. Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Announcement

    Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM from the professional G Master series is a new lens intended to be used in landscape and architectural photography. The optical system consists of 16 elements placed in 13 groups, including 5 aspherical lenses and 2 made of low-dispersion glass. Such a solution is to ensure perfect focus within the whole frame view and minimize chromatic aberration. Additionally, the lenses are covered with Nano AR coatings, which are supposed to reduce light reflection and ensure high contrast. The front lens is additionally covered with a fluorine coating, which makes it easier to clean the lens from dirt and other forms of contamination. 1). Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM with Sony Alpha a7R Similarly to other lenses from the G Master series, Sony used a 11-blade aperture. A well-known system of two ultrasonic DDSSM motors is responsible for adjusting focus. The whole construction is, of course, sealed and it weighs 680g, which is a good result for such a professional lens. 2). Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM The lens is to appear on sale in August and it will cost $2200.

    The Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS lens had its premiere along with the Sony A9 camera. This superzoom has been designed for sports and nature photographers. The lens consists of 22 elements placed in 16 groups, including 3 elements made of low-dispersion glass. As would be expected of a professional construction from the G Master series, the lens is equipped with a very fast autofocus which includes 2 Direct Drive SSM servo motors. 1). Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS Considering its parameters, the lens is light (1.39kg) and quite compact. The construction is, of course, fully sealed. The lens is to appear on sale in July 2017 and it will cost $2500.

    Today Sony presented a unique Sony FE 100 mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS portrait lens with a built-in apodizing filter (Smooth Trans Focus), which is to guarantee exceptionally malleable reproduction of blurriness. 1). Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS The lens is built of 14 elements placed in 11 groups. It consists of APD, and ED lenses as well as of one aspherical lens mentioned above. Additionally, the lens has a 11-blade aperture, which will certainly magnify the separation of background from foreground. 2).
