  1. Skylum Software is not giving up a fight for a leading position with regard to photo editing softwares. The latest Luminar update means, above all, greater effectiveness, speed of work and compatibility with new camera models. A few months ago, Luminar had a great update, whose new component was Digital Asset Manager (DMA) - namely a long-awaited advanced system of photo cataloging. The program's interface was also improved. In addition, the synchronization of photo settings and the functions such as Luminar Looks, Accent AI and AI Sky Enhancer were added. After the update to the 3.0.2 version, Luminar has achieved greater stability and speed. The program runs faster and the files can also be faster copied from and into the catalogs. The new Locate Folder function enables quick finding of photographs saved on a computer. The keyboard shortcuts and a possibility of automatic backup (for Mac OS X) have also been added. In the 3.0.2 update, we will find new additional buttons (gallery and a single image view) on a toolbar. There is also support for new cameras: Nikon P1000, Nikon D3500, Nikon Z 6, Nikon Z 7, Fujifilm GFX 50R, Fujifilm X-T3, Sony HX99, Sony HX95, Sony RX100, Sony RX100 VI, Panasonic Lumix LX100 II, Leica M10-D, M10-P, D-Lux 7 and Hasselblad H6D-100c. We can buy Luminar 3 for $69. For this price, we can install a program on maximally 5 devices.
  2. Skylum, a publisher of Luminar software, announced an update whose advantage will be DAM - Digital Asset Manager. Luminar (available for Mac OS and Windows) is currently the main rival of Adobe Lightroom and it seems that it will not be satisfied with a lower place on the podium. The introduced changes should help in this. The first big packet of improvements arrived at the end of the last year, with the update. Then the works on the DAM system for cataloging photographs were also confirmed. The lack of this system was considered the main disadvantage of Skylum software. DAM - Digital Asset Manager is a system for cataloging photographs recorded on traditional carriers, but now also in the cloud. After the update, the users will be able to launch DAM and compare it with the existing solution and, after doing it, make a decision concerning a used solution. People who have current and updated Luminar 2018 may expect an offer concerning free software update. The update will be free for now but we should expect that we will have to pay for a next bigger update later on. You can buy Luminar here.
  3. MacPhun is now officially called Skylum (see this post for more details).
