  1. Sony has presented the successor of the α6300 model, namely α6400. The new camera seems to be an attractive alternative also for the α6500 model, which is, theoretically, a higher-level model despite the fact that it does not offer some of the α6400 properties. Leaving behind the idiotic ways of naming used by almost all producers of the photography equipment, Sony α6400 is a new, very interesting camera for advanced amateurs, video makers and all people who want to have a small but effective mirrorless camera. Sony α6400 places special stress on the speed. As previously, we have the 24MP APS-C sensor (ISO range of 100-102400), but this time it is supported by the latest BIONZ X processor, taken from the flagship A9 model. 1). Sony Alpha 6400 In addition, we get a fast serial mode, which enables taking photographs with the speed of 11f/s with full AF support and the buffer which enables saving 116 JPEG and 46 RAW photographs in a series. The producer also boasts about its 425-point phase-detection autofocus, which covers 84% of the frame. Currently, it is the fastest autofocus in the world, which enables focusing within only 0.02 seconds. Thanks to the use of new algorithms, the producer managed to make a huge step ahead in terms of object-tracking and eye-detection modes. It seems that for the first time we get a system on whose effectiveness we may depend. The newest camera is also advertised as every vlogger’s dream. Still, it does not have the sensor stabilization system, which, next to the autofocus, is the most important function, and which is offered by the α6500 model. We get a full-frame 4K @ 30p save as well as the Full HD save with the speed of 120f/s. There is also a micrphone connector, a possibility of powering the camera through USB during recording, the Hybrid Log Gamma mode as well as flat S-Log2 and S-Log3 profiles. The camera's screen, which can be rotated upwards, should be useful in filming. During blogging, we will probably cover it with a microphone mounted on a hot shoe. 2). Sony Alpha 6400 The camera’s body has been sealed and it has been made of magnesium. The buttons, as could be expected from Sony, enable significant personalization. Out of its goodness, Sony has also decided to introduce the interval mode and a possibility of making time-lapse videos, which, hopefully, will also appear in the higher-level cameras. We should stress the fact that the body has an attractive price. We will pay $899 for the α6400 camera (body only) and $1,000 as well as $1,300 for the sets with the 16-50mm and 18-135mm kit lenses (respectively). The camera will be available at the beginning of February this year.

    Sony a6400

Sony Alpha a6400 is a very compact, light mirrorless camera full of latest solutions, designed having in mind youtubers and vloggers. Regardles of the content that you need (whether it's creative compositions or simple vlogging), Sony a6400 will give you what you need, namely beautiful photographs and films. Thanks to the quick autofocus with a possibility of eye and object tracking as well as perfect image quality, a6400 will fulfil its role in practically all conditions in which camera mobility is the most important thing. In this article you will find all the data and specifications of the Sony a6400 camera TABLE OF CONTENTS Quick Links Quick Info Description Photos of the Camera Video Review Comparison with Similar Cameras Full Technical Specification Image Samples Video Sample Full Review Discussion Forum Recommended Deals QUICK LINKS Review: Full Sony a6400 Review Discussion: Sony a6400 Discussion Recommended Deals: Sony a6400 Best Deals Files: Brochure | User Manual | Firmware Tags: Sony a6400 | a6400 | ILCE-6400 | ILCE-6400L | ILCE-6400M QUICK SONY a6400 INFO Effective Pixels: 24.2MP Sensor Size: APS-C (23.5 × 15.6mm) Max Image Resolution: 6000 × 4000px Max Video Resolution: 3840 × 2160 @ 30p ISO: 100-32000 Dynamic Range: 13 stops Color Depth: 14 bit Lens Mount: Sony E Mount Card Slots: 1× SD Card Battery Type: NP-FW50 Weight: 359g / 12.7oz Warranty: Limited 1-Year List Price: US $899 | UK £949 | DE €1,099 Current Price: Sony a6400 Best Deals & Prices DESCRIPTION Sony a6400 has been equipped with the 24MP APS-C sensor with the ISO range of 100-102,400. Unfortunately, the sensor does not have stabilization, but it is supported by the Bionz X processor taken from the top Sony a9 model, which enables the uncompromising speed of image compression. The characteristic trait of Sony a6400 is a uniquely quick and precise 425-point phase-detection autofocus, which covers 84% of the frame. It enables focusing within only 0.02 seconds. Thanks to the system using "artificial intelligence", the producer managed to make a huge step ahead in terms of object-tracking and eye-detection modes. The Real Time Eye AF and Real Time AF Tracking functions perfectly track the marked objects, also during serial photography and filming. The camera has a fast serial mode, which enables taking photographs with the speed of 11f/s, with full AF support in the mechanical shutter mode, and the speed of 8fps in the electronic shutter mode as well as the buffer which makes it possible to save 116 JPEG or 46 RAW photographs in a series. The shutter life expectancy is estimated for 200 thousand cycles. Sony a6400 has been also equipped with the interval mode, which enables making time-lapse films, and a new mobile application, Imaging Edge Mobile. a6400 perfectly fulfils its role in filming. The camera enables recording films in 4K, which is downsample from 6K with the speed of 30fps and Full HD with the speed of 120fps. Apart from that, we get the microphone connector, a possibility of powering the camera through USB during recording, the Hybrid Log Gamma mode as well as flat S-Log2 and S-Log3 profiles. The camera is also equipped with the screen which can be rotated upwards and which will work perfectly during vlogging. The whole ideal image of the camera is only flawed by the lack of sensor stabilization, but we can, of course, use stabilized lenses. The camera’s body is fully made of magnesium and sealed. We also have a possibility of the personalization of 8 buttons on the housing (89 functions to choose from), which should enable adjusting the camera to individual needs. Own bookmarks in the main menu and the arrangement of the auxiliary menu can also be personalized. PHOTOS OF SONY a6400 SONY a6400 VIDEO REVIEW COMPARISON WITH SIMILAR CAMERAS Sony a6400 is a successor of the a6300 model so comparing these constructions is natural. Yet another camera which had its premiere not so long ago and which can be taken into consideration while buying Sony a6400 is Fujifilm X-T3. This camera is a bit more expensive but it is very similar to the models mentioned above. The cameras have similar sizes, sensors, they have a very effective autofocus system and share many interesting functions.
