  1. The offer of Tamron’s lenses is continuously expanding. The producer takes into account the customers’ expectations and it will introduce 3 new lenses on the market: 35-150mm f/2.8-4, 35mm f/1.4 and 17-28mm f/2.8 III in the coming months. The offer will be targeted at both the users of reflex and mirrorless cameras. Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 III RXD The first from the lenses described today is dedicated for use with mirrorless Sony cameras. 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD will enable taking sharp photographs from the distance of 19cm. The RXD stepper motor is to ensure quick and silent AF work (also during film-making). The lens is a budget alternative for systemic zooms. 1). Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 III RXD Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD The SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD lens is targeted at more advanced users of Tamron reflex cameras. The lens is to be characterized by perfect resolution, quick AF and resistant body construction. The new structure is to embody the producer’s experience gathered during the 40-year production of this series of lenses. 2). Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD The lens, referred to by the producer as a “portrait zoom”, will probably not be used only within this narrow field, but it will also fulfil its role as a travel lens. The optical system will consist of aspherical and low-dispersion lenses, which is to ensure very good image quality within the whole range of focal lengths. It will be equipped with the optical stabilization system. 3). Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8-4 Di VC OSD The lenses are to appear on sale in the middle of the year. Their prices are not known yet.
  2. Tamron raised the price of the very popular Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens for Sony E-mount from $799 to $879. The lens was announced almost a year ago and it is still out of stock at mostly stores.
  3. Tamron Japan issued an apology for not having enough supply to meet the demand for their Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens that is supposed to start shipping on May 24th. The new Tamron 28-75mm lens offers good quality image quality (more reviews added to this post) for E-mount shooters for a price significantly lower compared to similar Sony/Zeiss offerings.
