The 72nd addition to the full-frame E-mount lens lineup is extremely compact and lightweight yet maintains high-resolution performance synonymous with Sony's G lens series. With a constant F2.8 maximum aperture, it produces stunning bokeh and enables creative flexibility across the entire zoom range. The versatile 24mm to 50mm focal range, coupled with its compact form, enables users to capture a myriad of scenes including portraits, everyday snapshots, landscapes, and video. "The demand for light and compact standard zoom lenses is increasing, and our new FE 24-50mm F2.8 G lens offers a F2.8 standard zoom option for creators seeking portability, without a sacrifice. 3. Press release: NIKON RELEASES THE NIKKOR Z DX 24MM F/1.7, A FAST PRIME LENS FOR NIKON Z SERIES CREATORS Newest NIKKOR Z Lens Makes it Simple to Get Blurred Backgrounds in Photo & Videos MELVILLE, NY (May 31, 2023) - Nikon Inc. has announced the release of the NIKKOR Z DX 24mm f/1.7, a fast aperture and extremely affordable compact prime lens for Nikon Z mount APS-C size/DX-format mirrorless cameras. The NIKKOR Z DX 24mm f/1.7 is the first prime APS-C size NIKKOR Z lens and gives a wide range of creators the benefits of a versatile angle of view and fast f/1.7 aperture for blurred backgrounds and amazing low light performance. The quality of the out-of-focus area, also known as the bokeh, is unique to fast maximum apertures and allows users to dramatically emphasize their subjects in still-life and portrait photography. The new 24mm f/1.7 also enables the capture of beautiful, high-resolution photos and video in dimly lit conditions, by allowing more light to enter the lens. In addition, images recorded under such circumstances exhibit very little blur, even while shooting hand-held due to the fast shutter speed afforded with wider apertures. The 24mm focal length is ideal for a wide variety of scenes, including tabletop photos, portraits, and landscapes. What’s more, the 7-inch (0.18m) minimum focus distance allows users to get close to subjects such as flowers and tabletop objects, for images that emphasize the subject with big background bokeh. The compact and lightweight design enables easy carrying, making it an ideal lens for everyday use. Primary features of the NIKKOR Z DX 24mm f/1.7 Lens A fast maximum aperture of f/1.7 makes it an ideal lens for rendering content that includes large bokeh for both still-image and video recording. During hand-held shooting in dimly lit and dark surroundings, the fast aperture enables fast shutter speeds to reduce the effects of camera shake, as well as the ability to use lower ISO sensitivities for less noise. A convenient angle of view at 24-mm focal length and 7-inch minimum focus distance support recording of a wide variety of scenes. Adoption of a stepping motor (STM) enables quiet autofocusing, minimizing focus sounds in video. As an added benefit for advanced video creation, the newest lens includes Linear Response MF (manual focus) that ensures high repeatability when focusing manually as the focus ring responds directly and repeatedly to subtle control. It also includes an aperture ring making manual aperture/iris control fast, direct, and easy. The dedicated iris ring enables click-less control to achieve smooth depth of field transitions. Unrivaled Mobility Designed to perfectly pair with Sony’s compact Alpha™ system E-mount cameras, the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II is the world’s smallest and lightesti 24-70 mm F2.8 zoom in its class and offers unprecedented shooting flexibility and freedom in a wide range of situations. The FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II weighs just 24.6 ounces (695 grams), approximately 20% less (7 ounces) than the original 24-70 mm F2.8 G Master. The lens’ length has been reduced by 16 mm, and overall volume has been reduced by approximately 18%. Reliability and Improved Control The new FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II was developed based on feedback from professionals to offer even better control and usability than preceding models. This model includes: Zoom smoothness switch to adjust zoom ring torque either Tight or Smooth A newly added aperture ring with click ON/OFF switch and iris lock switch Two customizable focus hold buttons The focus ring that responds directly and linearly to subtle control when focusing manually New lens hood design with opening to control circular polarizing filters (dia. 82mm) The center of gravity back toward the mount for improved handling and operation An updated dust and moisture resistant[vi] design provides extra reliability for outdoor use in challenging conditions. The buttons and switches are fitted with rubber gaskets, and a rubber ring seals the lens mount. The front lens element also features a fluorine coating that repels water, oil, and other contaminants, while making it easier to wipe off any contaminants or fingerprints that become attached to the lens surface. Pricing and Availability The new FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II will be available in June for approximately $2,300.00 USD and $3,000.00 CAD and will be sold at a variety of Sony’s authorized dealers throughout North America. It helps give you the feeling you are right there in the action, and the focal length really directs your eye to the center of the frame." Thanks to the wide-angle of view and built-in STM motor that tracks focus with natural movement, the new RF24mm lens is optimized for video use, particularly vlogging and other social media uses. Additional Features of the RF24mm F1.8 Macro IS STM Lens Include: Fast F1.8 maximum aperture for great control over depth of field and bokeh, low-light shooting, and video recording, with fast and reliable autofocus. Excellent image quality: highlights include a UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) glass element, one aspheric element, and Canon SSC (Super Spectra Coating) to help minimize ghosting and flare. Minimum focus distance of approx. 5.5 In./0.14 m; close-up magnification 0.5x at minimum focus distance. Optical image stabilization — up to 5.5 stops* of shake correction. Up to 6.5 stops Coordinated IS when paired with EOS R series cameras featuring In-Body Image Stabilizer (IBIS). Dedicated, programmable Control Ring with click-stop operation. Equivalent to approximately 38mm coverage when used on cameras with APS-C size image sensors. Impressively compact and light at only 0.6 lbs/270g. Circular (9 blades) aperture for beautiful, soft backgrounds. The Canon RF15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM lens is an ultra wide-angle zoom lens designed for a variety of image-capturing moments such as dynamic landscapes and natural snapshots. Travel vlogger Juliana Broste (@TravelingJules) says that a wide-angle lens is her go to, "I’ve got options–whether I’m standing super close to my subject or backing up to get a sense of a place, I’m covered." Like the new RF24mm, this new lens has macro capabilities and produces images with beautiful bokeh, with the added flexibility of a zoom range. The RF15-30 is another excellent option for photographers looking to go beyond the standard zoom lens. "The RF15-30 F4.5-6.3 IS STM makes it easy to film handheld, so you can stay light on your feet and move about freely. So long shaky shots!" Travel Vlogger, Juliana Broste Additional Features of the Canon RF15-30mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens Include: Equivalent to approximately 24–48mm coverage when used on cameras with APS-C size image sensors.
